A Cultural Journey Through Fashion at UUIN's Tokyo POP-UP
Taiwan's renowned designer brand, UUIN, is set to unveil its third Tokyo POP-UP event at A
COLLECTIVE Kuramae from September 1 to September 6, 2026. Following the success of their previous POP-UP event held in Harajuku in May, this upcoming showcase promises to bring a unique blend of Taiwanese culture and modern fashion to the heart of Tokyo.
The 2026 Autumn/Winter Collection titled "Wind | 風" draws inspiration from the seasonal winds of Hsinchu, known as Jiou Jiao Feng. This event features a captivating display of fashion pieces that weave together the essence of nature with traditional craftsmanship and cultural narratives. Attendees will also have the opportunity to explore selected works from the 2026 Spring/Summer collection, "Beautiful People | 美人", birthed from the vibrant artistry of Taiwanese painter Chen Jin.

Inspirations Behind the Collection
Hsinchu, often referred to as the
"City of Wind," serves as the muse for
2026 AW Collection. The collection captures the essence of the Jiou Jiao Feng as it meanders through glass studios, tea fields, and the slow ripening of dried persimmons, creating a dialogue between wind and memory. The flowing forms and geometric prisms of blown glass are evoked through light, transparency, and layered materials, emphasizing an ethereal quality that is both sophisticated and delicate.
Colors such as honey brown, amber gold, and gentle earth tones pay homage to the unique beauty of
Dong Fang Mei Ren Cha (Oriental Beauty Tea), while the silhouettes embody the refined aesthetics of Eastern culture. The design structure incorporates rounded layers reminiscent of dried persimmons, creating clothing that resonates with both shape and volume.
Additionally, this season honors Taiwanese
"Father of Gouache" painting,
Lin Zhi Niu, whose mastery of color and form inspires prints for the collection. These designs intend to merge traditional crafts with contemporary fashion language, embodying the auspicious sentiment of
"Shi Shi Ru Yi" (everything goes as desired).
A Selection from 2026 SS Collection
Simultaneously, a curated selection from the
2026 SS Collection featuring the works of
Chen Jin, Taiwan's first female painter to be included in Japan's
Teiten, will also be presented. Her graceful depictions of women illustrate a serene beauty, bridging the gap between art and everyday life, encouraging self-reflection through fashion.
Featured items from this part of the showcase include long shirts printed with
Chen Jin's delicate artwork, capturing not only the essence of her brushwork but also the texture of paper.
