KSAT and Xoople Join Forces to Enhance Ground Network for Satellite Constellation

KSAT and Xoople Partnership

On October 5, 2026, a significant partnership was forged between Kongsberg Satellite Services (KSAT) and Xoople in Madrid, Spain. This collaboration aims to enhance the ground network infrastructure used for Xoople's innovative satellite constellation. The agreement was formally signed by KSAT's Chief Commercial Officer, Arild Jose Jensen, and Xoople's CEO, Fabrizio Pirondini, in the presence of Norway's Minister of Trade and Industry, Cecilie Myrseth.

What is KSATlite?

KSATlite is KSAT's fully automated Ground Segment-as-a-Service that was initially launched in 2016. This service grants satellite operators a standardized and scalable means to access ground support. Over the past decade, KSATlite has proven to be highly effective, recording an average contact success rate of over 99.8%. It caters to a range of missions, from single satellite operations to extensive constellations.

The partnership is set against the backdrop of Xoople's ambition to create Earth's System of Record™, which aims to deliver real-time and continuously updated insights into Earth's physical changes. By providing a robust platform that integrates advanced AI and substantial Earth data, Xoople intends to facilitate organizations in understanding and responding to both natural and built environment changes effectively.

The Benefits of the Collaboration

As part of this partnership, Xoople will leverage the expansive KSATlite network for downlinking vast quantities of Earth observation data. This collaboration is expected to accelerate the transfer speed of information from space to users on the ground. KSAT will support the partnership by adding new ground station locations and developing two vital features alongside Xoople:
1. Faster data delivery from ground stations to the cloud.
2. New service endpoints enabling operators to further automate their operations.

These advancements not only ensure enhanced delivery and operational efficiency but will automatically become part of the standard KSATlite service, benefiting future customers who will access the expanded capabilities of the network.

Aiming Higher

Reflecting on this promising collaboration, Marte Indregard, KSAT's President and CEO, expressed enthusiasm, stating, "Through our collaboration, Xoople has challenged us with ambitious requirements that continue to drive the development of KSATlite. Because KSATlite is a standardized service, these enhancements will further strengthen our offerings for future customers."

Xoople's CEO, Fabrizio Pirondini, also recognized the importance of reliable and scalable Earth data access in this joint endeavor. He asserted, "By working with KSAT, we are bolstering the data supply chain that allows us to continuously capture and process information about physical changes on our planet. This partnership ensures that we meet the scale, frequency, and reliability necessary for informed decision-making through enterprise workflows and AI-driven processes."

Future Prospects

This partnership marks a significant milestone for both KSAT and Xoople. With a shared commitment to transforming Earth data into a trusted enterprise asset, they are set to enhance operational intelligence and drive AI-focused decision-making on a global scale.

For KSAT, this collaboration means an increased scope and capability of its KSATlite network, preparing the organization to handle high-volume Earth observation missions in the future. On the other hand, Xoople is set to enhance its quest to supply comprehensible, machine-readable formats that can seamlessly integrate with AI systems, potentially revolutionizing the field of geospatial data management.
