"Ice Miso Tsuyu Somen Shop" will be held on
July 24 and
25, 2026 at
Tokyo Skytree Town®, specifically in the
Solamachi Hiroba. Over these two days, attendees can enjoy a summer festival vibe reminiscent of traditional Kakigori (shaved ice) stands, all while indulging in freezing cold somen noodle dishes.
Given the rising temperatures in Japan, particularly during the summer months, there is an increasing demand for cold foods and beverages that provide an extraordinary chilling experience. This event will offer a

"Freezing Cold Somen", complemented with generous amounts of Ice Miso Tsuyu®, allowing visitors to enjoy a unique meal that is not only tasty but also thrillingly cold.

According to the Japan Meteorological Association, the summer forecast indicates the potential for extremely high temperatures, pushing beyond
40°C in some areas. This trend has stimulated a growing interest in cold foods, particularly somen noodles, which are most popular when temperatures exceed
26.5°C. Ajinomoto’s Ice Miso Tsuyu® has seen an increase in sales correlated with rising temperatures, highlighting its popularity as a go-to meal for those sweltering hot days. The company aims to deliver a novel summer event that centers on this concept, allowing people to enjoy somen in an exciting new way.

On the event days, guests can relish
Freezing Cold Somen, which is served at temperatures below
-10°C. Attendees will have the opportunity to choose from two distinct flavors of Ice Miso Tsuyu®—
Bonito Flavor and
Chicken Yuzu Flavor. Additionally, a variety of five different toppings, including green onions, pickled ginger, fried onions, seaweed, and tempura scraps, can be selected, encouraging patrons to customize their dish in a way similar to choosing syrups at a Kakigori stand. With
20 different combinations, participants can create their personalized masterpiece.
The venue will also feature nostalgic decorations such as ice flags and lanterns, enhancing the lively summer festival atmosphere. This immersive experience promises both a visual and gustatory delight, making it an ideal outing amidst the summer heat.
