Nobu Beach Inn: A New Luxury Destination in Barbuda
Nobu Hospitality, co-founded by the iconic Robert De Niro, has announced the development of a new luxury hotel,
Nobu Beach Inn, located on the picturesque island of Barbuda. This latest venture follows the successful opening of
Nobu Barbuda in 2020, a restaurant and beach lounge that has quickly become a destination in its own right. The Nobu Beach Inn is set to be part of The Beach Club, a low-density tourist and residential complex that emphasizes luxury while embracing the natural beauty of the Caribbean.
Located on a breathtaking 161 acres, the resort will feature
36 rooms organized into
17 individual villas. Guests can look forward to enjoying a beach club, an oceanfront swimming pool, both indoor and outdoor spas, a children's club, an outdoor cinema, and tennis courts that cater to various activities. The design will incorporate single-story bungalows that use sustainable materials, blending seamlessly into the lush landscape they inhabit. The resort will also host a collection of first-class dining options, including a seafood grill and an omakase sushi bar.
De Niro's personal connection to the island adds a meaningful touch to this project. After discovering the property over three decades ago during a sailing trip from Antigua, De Niro felt drawn to its serene environment. When the land became available ten years ago, he decided to fulfill his vision for creating a welcoming space that reflects Barbuda's essence, stating, "Since I first set foot in Barbuda, I knew it was special. We wanted to create a comfortable space where everyone could gather and enjoy the natural beauty of the island."
In addition to the hotel, Nobu Beach Inn will also host
25 beachfront residences, expanding the Nobu residential portfolio. These residences will consist of
four or five-bedroom bungalows that can be customized per buyer's preferences. Prices start at
$12 million, offering a unique chance to experience life on one of the last virgin beaches in the Caribbean. Each homeowner will have access to the resort's amenities and the option to include their property in the resort's rental program.
To encourage guests to explore Barbuda's stunning natural environment, the inn will house a fully equipped water sports center, offering activities such as sailing, water skiing, and kitesurfing. Cruising options abound, with sailboats and motor yachts available for sunset excursions, beach picnics, fishing trips, diving, and island-hopping adventures.
Adding to the appeal, a rotating roster of wellness professionals, DJs, fitness experts, and visiting chefs will deliver unique culinary and wellness experiences, further enriching the overall guest experience at the Nobu Beach Inn.
Barbuda has increased its accessibility with the opening of the
Burton Nibbs International Airport in October 2024, offering direct connections for private jets and seamless island transfers. The airport in Antigua is conveniently located just a three-hour flight from Miami, four hours from New York or Toronto, and seven and a half hours from London, making the Nobu Beach Inn a stunning getaway for travelers worldwide.
As the final touches are put in place, construction is expected to complete by late
2026, marking the launch of a luxurious paradise that promises to rival the best in the Caribbean. For more details on the project, visit
The Beach Club's official website.
