Insect Master Camp Overview

Starting June 20, 2026, Plus One Education, a subsidiary of Riso Education Group, will host the "Insect Master Camp" designed for children in grades 1 through 9. This exciting camp will take place in Maebashi City, Gunma Prefecture, and promises a unique learning experience in nature.

Highlights of the Camp

1. Experience Fireflies Up Close: One of the main attractions is the chance to observe Genji and Heike fireflies in their natural habitat. 2. Daytime Activities: While the firefly observation occurs at night, the camp offers a full schedule during the day, including insect collection in the rich nature of Akagi, river ecosystem research, and creation of insect specimens. With guidance from Professor Fabre, children can engage deeply and get their questions answered.

3. Earn a Spot as Fabre's Apprentice: Participants can take part in the STS Insect Exam during the camp. Starting from level 15 and progressing upwards, children achieving certain ranks may become recognized as Professor Fabre's apprentices, gaining the opportunity to support future camps.

Daily Schedule

Day 1

• - 7:30-8:30 AM: Depart from Shinjuku via express train to Shimmaebashi.
• - Insect collection and observation around nearby facilities.
• - Attend a firefly education session and participate in firefly viewing activities.

Day 2

• - Morning activities include additional insect collection.
• - Participation in insect specimen creation followed by lunch and more insect collection.
• - Complete the STS insect exam before departing in the evening.
