Celebrating Excellence: Chuo International High School's Award-Winning Students
In a significant recognition of academic and competitive excellence, Chuo International High School proudly announces that two of its students,
Kimura Maiou and
Nakano Haruto, have been honored with prestigious accolades during the graduation ceremony held on March 12, 2026. Kimura received the
Chiba Prefecture Private School Governor's Award, while Nakano was awarded the
Chiba Prefecture Private Middle and High School Excellent Student Award. These awards highlight their hard work, commitment, and contributions to both their academic pursuits and the eSports community.
Achievements of Kimura Maiou
In April 2023, Kimura Maiou enrolled in Chuo International High School along with the specified support campus, the
eSports High School, located in Shibuya. Over the past three years, Kimura has balanced commuting from Gunma Prefecture to pursue his studies while honing his skills in eSports. His dedication culminated in remarkable victories: he clinched the top spot in the
2nd NASEF JAPAN All-Japan High School eSports Championship in the
Street Fighter 6 category on December 15, 2024. Furthermore, in his senior year, he repeated this achievement by winning the
STAGE:0 eSports High-School Championship 2025 in the same category on July 27, 2025.
In addition to his accomplishments in academics and gaming, Kimura has volunteered significantly, aiding elementary and middle school students in eSports experience events. His passion for digital technology and IT will propel him forward as he plans to pursue further education at the university level in a related digital or IT field after graduation.
Nakano Haruto’s Journey
Similarly, Nakano Haruto began his journey at Chuo International High School and the
eSports High School in April 2023. Moving from his hometown of Miyagi Prefecture to Tokyo, Nakano immersed himself in the eSports culture and pursued his studies diligently. His determination led him to excel in competitions as well; he also secured victory in the
STAGE:0 eSports High-School Championship 2025, showcasing his skill in
Street Fighter 6 during his third year.
Beyond his competitive efforts, Nakano has actively participated in hosting eSports experience events for local elementary and middle school students, fostering a spirit of mentorship and community engagement. Post-high school, he plans to advance his studies in data science at a university back in Miyagi Prefecture.
The Significance of the Awards
The
Chiba Prefecture Private School Governor's Award is a prestigious honor given to outstanding students across academics, arts, and sports, celebrating achievements that inspire others. For Chuo International High School, this marks the second consecutive year of such recognition, following the award to
Sekine Akiho the previous year. Meanwhile, the
Excellent Student Award, conferred by the Governor of Chiba Prefecture, recognizes individuals who display exemplary character and accomplishments, serving as role models for their peers.
Looking Ahead
Chuo International High School continues its commitment to fostering the talents of its students, striving to nurture individuals who can contribute positively to a sustainable society. The school eagerly anticipates the future challenges and successes of its students like Kimura and Nakano.
