Peruvian Culinary Festival 'Perú Mucho Gusto' Celebrates Culture and Cuisine in New York

Discover the Colors and Flavors of Perú Mucho Gusto in New York

The aromas of fresh ceviche and the sounds of lively music are filling the air at Brooklyn's Greenpoint Terminal Warehouse. The highly anticipated Perú Mucho Gusto Culinary Festival has officially kicked off its U.S. debut, running from September 19 to 21. This three-day festival, organized by PROMPERÚ, is a free event designed to immerse New Yorkers in the heart of Peruvian culture, showcasing an array of delicious food, vibrant music, and unique craftsmanship.

As attendees walk through the festival, they are invited to taste everything from traditional Peruvian dishes like ceviche and pollo a la brasa to innovative fusion creations and classic desserts inspired by Peru's rich culinary heritage. Participating restaurants include notable names such as Don Ceviche, La Criolla, and Incas Grill, putting forth a mouth watering selection sure to satisfy any palate.

In addition to food, the festival spotlights Perú's recognition as a superfood powerhouse. Attendees will find a variety of Andean grains, sauces, specialty coffee, and artisan jewelry provided by esteemed exhibitors including Del Campo Foods and Rabble Lion Coffee.

Each day promises an exciting lineup of activities, from chef demonstrations to dance showcases. On Friday, the festival opened with a fun pisco sour masterclass, setting the stage for a dynamic weekend ahead. Saturday will feature folkloric dance performances and cooking demos with renowned chefs, while the festival will conclude on Sunday with traditional dances and a grand closing show, celebrating the best of Peruvian cuisine and culture.

A significant highlight of the festival is the 360° Pisco Bar, where festival-goers can experience Perú's national spirit through interactive tastings and cocktail workshops. This immersive experience celebrates not only the flavors of Peru but also the profound stories behind its beloved pisco.

Diana Pita, PROMPERÚ's Economic and Commercial Counselor in New York, expressed her excitement about the festival, emphasizing Perú's distinguished culinary accolades. With 12 titles as the World’s Best Culinary Destination according to the World Travel Awards, this festival symbolizes the growing interest in Peruvian gastronomy globally. It marks the festival's first time outside of Perú, expanding to several major cities, including a successful presentation in Madrid earlier this year.

Whether you are a local or a tourist, the Perú Mucho Gusto Culinary Festival offers a unique opportunity to explore authentic flavors and immerse yourself in the vibrant Peruvian culture—all conveniently located in the bustling heart of Brooklyn. Registration is still open, allowing everyone to partake in this exciting celebration of food, music, and tradition.
