Scientific Games Launches Cutting-Edge Tech for North Dakota Lottery Growth

Scientific Games Enhances North Dakota Lottery with Innovative Systems Technology

In an exciting development for the North Dakota Lottery, Scientific Games has entered into a contract to integrate its latest state-of-the-art omnichannel technology. This agreement represents a significant advancement in systems technology aimed at transforming both retail and digital sales for the state lottery.

The decision to partner with Scientific Games was determined through a highly competitive process, ultimately awarding the company a six-year contract, with an option to extend for an additional two years. Notably, Scientific Games stands as the fastest-growing systems provider in the gaming industry, with nearly 40 successful lottery systems implementations completed since 2016.

At the heart of this technological upgrade lies Scientific Games’ Momentum ecosystem, featuring its advanced enterprise gaming system. This integrated system not only consolidates the iLottery and Loyalty programs but also incorporates innovative retail technology, which includes their acclaimed self-service terminals. The ecosystem's centerpiece is the AEGIS central gaming system, notable for providing a seamless experience across various platforms.

For player engagement, Scientific Games offers SG PAM, a premier player account management solution. This system is complemented by an advanced customer relationship management tool and an upgraded bonusing engine that fosters a rewarding user experience, both on web and mobile platforms.

Lance Gaebe, the Director of the North Dakota Lottery, expressed enthusiasm about the new technology, stating, "Our goal was to modernize our technology so that our players can enjoy fluid experiences between retail and digital. We aim to work with the best technical partner that supports our mission to responsibly increase sales and strengthen contributions to state programs in the coming years."

This latest contract marks the third selection of Scientific Games as the North Dakota Lottery’s technology vendor, a partnership highlighted by an impressive 33% growth in sales over the past decade. Interestingly, from the fiscal year 2022 to 2023, iLottery sales alone surged by 36%, showcasing the effectiveness of the existing technology and hinting at the potential success of the newly integrated system.

Scientific Games began its relationship with the North Dakota Lottery two decades ago when the first Powerball tickets were sold in 2004. The collaboration has evolved significantly with the introduction of the iLottery program in 2014 and a mobile app launched in 2018. Currently, Scientific Games provides the Lottery with a user-friendly online and mobile draw game purchasing service, along with a Players Club where participants can accumulate points and redeem rewards through exclusive programs like Points for Prizes and Points for Drawings.

John Schulz, President of Americas Global Instant Products at Scientific Games, noted, "We've been with the North Dakota Lottery since its inception, and our technology has consistently delivered excellent performance over the past two decades. Our teams have built a robust partnership through dedicated service, deeply understanding the unique requirements of the North Dakota Lottery. With our Momentum ecosystem, we are now ready to elevate that partnership further."

Scientific Games continues to lead the charge in retail and digital gaming by providing technology, analytics, and services to lotteries in over 50 countries. With its commitment to innovation and performance, the company remains a formidable force in the lottery industry.

In summary, Scientific Games’ new contract with the North Dakota Lottery is not only a testament to the company’s prowess in the lottery systems market but also signifies the promising future of lottery technology, enhancing player engagement and driving sales growth—an achievement that could set standards for lotteries across the globe.
