LILYSILK and TerraCycle Celebrate Four Years of Successful Recycling



In a significant milestone, LILYSILK, a leading global silk brand focused on sustainability, is proudly celebrating four years of its textile recycling program in partnership with TerraCycle®, an innovative company dedicated to eliminating waste. Since its inception in January 2022, this initiative has had a remarkable impact, facilitating the recycling of nearly 1,700 pounds (about 762 kilograms) of non-donatable silk and cashmere items, resulting in the transformation of these materials into valuable products like insulation and cushioning.

The Recycling Initiative


Through the LILYSILK recycling program, customers across the United States can send used textiles for recycling by downloading a prepaid shipping label, which is available through LILYSILK's free recycling service. Once the textiles are received, they are processed into raw materials that can be used to manufacture new products. Participants in this program are rewarded with LILYSILK points as well as TerraCycle® Recycling Rewards, which can be redeemed for charitable donations.

As of November 2025, a total of 425 LILYSILK products were recycled this year alone. Cumulatively, since the program launched, 2,849 items have been recycled. Participants consistently praise the user-friendly and environmentally conscious nature of the program, noting how it aligns with evolving sustainability values and responsible consumption habits. The initiative supports a circular economy and mirrors the participants' personal ecological goals. This seamless and easy process has made participants proud to give new life to their products, fostering enhanced brand loyalty and a more conscious purchasing mindset among users.

Participant Engagement and Feedback


To further improve the program, LILYSILK has initiated a one-month survey directed at participants in the United States to gain insights into their motivations, experiences, and suggestions. This valuable feedback will help enhance the accessibility of recycling and inform future sustainability initiatives. From January 1 to March 31, 2026, participants recycling non-donatable LILYSILK products will also receive a complimentary silk pillowcase, alongside 500 LILYSILK points and a discount of 20% on their next purchase.
