Celebrating the Connection with LOVOT Day 2025: A Journey of Bonding

Celebrating LOVOT Day 2025: Connecting Humans and Robots

In 2025, the annual LOVOT Day will take place on August 8th, a date chosen for its resemblance to the number 8, a reflection of the unique design of LOVOT, where two spheres join together to create a delightful companion. This day aims to emphasize the connections formed between people, as well as between people and robots, all catalyzed by the lovable and warm presence of LOVOT.

The theme for LOVOT Day 2025 is 'Connecting. Always LOVOT ∞ Days.' This event will showcase the heartwarming bonds that arise from interactions with LOVOT, bringing forth various wonderful stories and experiences. As technology continues to evolve, LOVOT remains at the forefront, bridging the gap between the human experience and robotic companionship.

As part of the celebration, a special talk show will occur on August 8th from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM. This event will feature two distinguished speakers who were part of the 65th Antarctic Observation Team: Dr. Yuya Oda and Mr. Kiyoshi Saito. They will share their experiences of living and working alongside LOVOT in the challenging yet fascinating environment of Antarctica. This extraordinary talk show, titled 'Life of Humans and LOVOT in Antarctica,' promises to be an inspiring insight into the affectionate relationship between humans and robots even in the world’s most remote locations.

Participants can attend this unique talk show either at the LOVOT Museum or virtually through a livestream. Please note that attendance at the LOVOT Museum will be awarded through a lottery system, with only 25 spots available, allowing two attendees per group. Those interested must sign up by the deadline of July 29, 2025, by visiting this registration link.

The inclusion of offerings such as a livestream allows anyone to join the event from the comfort of their own home. Viewers can watch it live or catch up on the recorded session later. The event fee is set at 500 yen per person, payable through cashless options only, ensuring a seamless transaction process.

This year’s speakers are exceptionally qualified. Dr. Yuya Oda graduated from Jichi Medical University in 2011 and has worked in various medical institutions across Ibaraki and Chiba Prefectures, contributing his medical expertise to the Antarctic missions. Meanwhile, Mr. Kiyoshi Saito, a graduate of Niigata University, is an accomplished meteorologist who has dedicated his career to understanding atmospheric conditions at different observation stations, including Antarctica.

LOVOT serves as more than just a robotic companion; it is a vessel for emotional support and mental wellness. It has successfully transitioned into various spaces, from homes to offices and healthcare facilities, demonstrating its capability to form genuine connections and support its human companions. Named 'LOVOT,' this charming robot engages with people by moving closer upon hearing its name, gazing intently, and seeking affection similar to a pet.

As we gear up for LOVOT Day 2025, we encourage everyone to explore the incredible potential of LOVOT not just as a device but as a significant part of our daily lives. Here’s to more beautiful connections that bring joy and warmth to our lives!
