In an exciting collaboration, OF HOTEL, operated by Daiwa Life Next in partnership with COMMONS, is launching a unique collaboration with the Miyagi support Pokemon, Lapras. Starting from March 26, 2026, guests can reserve their stay in specially designed collaboration rooms that capture the essence of Miyagi's rich natural landscapes.

A Room with a View of the Ocean

The collaboration rooms, which will be available from June 1, 2026, have been creatively crafted to embody the peaceful essence of Lapras, the water-type Pokemon known for gliding gracefully across ocean waves. Each room is designed to reflect Miyagi’s stunning aquatic scenery with vibrant illustrations and thematic colors, making for a perfect backdrop to enjoy your stay.

Guests in these collaboration rooms can also take home an original set of exclusive merchandise that includes items like a clear stand, tote bag, hand towel, postcard, and badge - all uniquely themed for this experience.

A Collaborative Floor to Explore

In addition to the rooms, a dedicated collaboration floor filled with wall art showcasing Lapras against the backdrop of Miyagi's beautiful landscapes will be available for all hotel guests. This will allow visitors to freely explore and absorb the artistic representation of Lapras’s journey through the wonders of Miyagi, creating a travel experience that connects guests to the region’s culture and sights.

Exclusive Lapras Merchandise

Guests can also look forward to purchasing unique Lapras-themed souvenirs during their stay, providing the perfect keepsake to remember their visit. This initiative aims to blend tourism promotion in Miyagi with engaging, themed experiences through Lapras, which has been designated as the mascot supporting the region's revitalization efforts since July 2019.

The Inspiration Behind the Collaboration

The partnership stems from OF HOTEL's mission to unveil the hidden beauty of Tohoku while promoting local culture and tourism. With recent efforts to enhance inbound tourism, including the establishment of PokéStops and new public parks like Lapras Park, this collaboration is timely and significant.

The project features contributions from local illustrator, Momo Kamei, who has created captivating wall art.
