Automa Plans Expansion in the European Energy Market with New Office and Projects
Automa Expands its Reach in the European Energy Market
Automa, a Brazilian technology and software company specializing in enhancing the efficiency of the electric sector, has announced a significant expansion into the European market. The company is set to open a new office in Porto, Portugal, this November, aimed at serving renewable energy producers and traders across Europe.
The expansion is not just a geographical move; it marks a pivotal point in Automa's growth. Since establishing its foothold in Brazil, where it services major energy companies, the firm has experienced remarkable yearly growth of over 40% across all operational areas, including water, wind, solar, energy storage, and substations. "Our objective is for our international revenue to surpass current earnings in Brazil within the next four years," stated Marcelo Ferreira, CEO and founder of Automa. The company currently manages a quarter of Brazil's total renewable energy generation capacity, which stands at 40 GW.
In addition to the newly established office in Portugal, Automa's operations in Europe coincide with the anticipated delivery of its initial projects in the region. By 2024, Automa aims to have five new photovoltaic plants operational, with four situated in France and one in Poland. These plants will apply Automa's innovative solutions for monitoring and operating solar facilities, all owned by EDP Renewables.
Marcelo Ferreira further emphasized the significance of this venture: "Navigating the approval procedures in Europe for our solutions is a true representation of what Automa stands for. It's a validation of our commitment to developing top-tier products and services recognized by some of the largest and most demanding renewable energy companies globally."
With 18 years of experience, Automa has firmly positioned itself as a leader in automation technology, providing solutions such as SCADA systems, Automatic Maneuver Control, Power Limitation Optimizer, Turnkey automation setups, and Power Plant Controllers. The impact of these technologies is substantial, enabling customers to increase their energy generation by up to 5%. Over its operational life, Automa has completed more than 1,000 projects, managed 50 operating centers, and facilitated over 200 substations utilizing its developed technology.
Looking ahead, Automa plans to establish another office in Madrid, Spain, in 2025, under the leadership of Giorgio Inforzato, a professional with 15 years of experience in the European renewable energy sector. This strategic expansion into Europe is not just about market presence; it reflects Automa's overarching vision to be at the forefront of renewable energy technology on a global scale.
As the energy landscape continues to evolve toward more sustainable practices, companies like Automa are crucial in driving innovation and efficiency in the sector. Their commitment to renewable energy solutions is set to make a significant impact as they venture into the European market, bringing not only their technologies but also their extensive expertise in energy management.
