GlobalLogic and Elektrobit Strengthen Partnership for Next-Gen SDV Acceleration
Enhancing Software-Defined Vehicle Development
In a significant move for the automotive industry, GlobalLogic Inc., a subsidiary of Hitachi, has announced an expansion of its strategic partnership with Elektrobit, a leading innovator in automotive software. The announcement was made on January 22 on the U.S. East Coast at 9:00 AM EST (11:00 PM JST), highlighting a commitment to accelerate the development and market introduction of next-generation Software-Defined Vehicles (SDVs).
The collaboration between GlobalLogic and Elektrobit spans over 15 years and has been foundational in delivering cutting-edge products like Adaptive and Classic AUTOSAR middleware, in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) systems, and robust connectivity solutions. With this new partnership expansion, both companies aim to move beyond traditional engineering services by focusing on smarter, faster, and cost-efficient development of automotive software on a larger scale. This strategic aim is set to drive significant market deployment across major global regions.
To facilitate the broader transition within the industry towards SDVs, the two companies are further enhancing their partnership. GlobalLogic will leverage its extensive expertise in high-performance computing, functional safety, and cybersecurity to provide support for compliance with international standards such as ASPICE 4.0 and ISO 21434.
Ramki Krishna, Group Vice President and General Manager in GlobalLogic's Mobility & Industrial division, stated, "The expansion of our partnership with Elektrobit solidifies our joint commitment to driving the evolution of SDVs in the automotive sector. By utilizing our strengths in safety-critical software, high-performance computing, digital cockpit innovations, and SDV toolsets, we will empower OEMs to accelerate feature development and bring production-level vehicle programs to a global scale."
Meanwhile, Elektrobit's Chief Product Officer and Board Member, Jaganathan Rajagopalan, remarked, "SDVs are already a reality. Success in this arena hinges on scalability, flexibility, and robust partnerships. Our collaboration with GlobalLogic propels our efforts towards scaling up, allowing us to integrate world-class engineering insights and technologies.
