Masahiko Ozumi Paris Opens in Tokyo Station
On October 29, 2025, the renowned patisserie
Masahiko Ozumi Paris, founded by celebrated pastry chef Masahiko Ozumi, will launch its first permanent store at
Daimaru Tokyo near Tokyo Station. Known for its creative and artistic cakes, the brand is set to expand its presence beyond the Kansai region, offering an exciting selection of desserts to Tokyo's market.
A Journey of Excellence
Masahiko Ozumi, the owner and head pastry chef, began his culinary journey after graduating from Kansai University with a degree in Environmental Urban Engineering. His passion led him to Paris, where he studied the French language at the Sorbonne University and perfected his pastry techniques at prestigious institutions like Le Cordon Bleu and Belle École. With hands-on experience at top patisseries and chocolateries in Paris, he matured into a master chef.
At the young age of 26, he became the sous-chef at
A Lacroix Patisserie, where he had the opportunity to win the coveted 'Best of Paris' award. Later, at just 28, he took on the role of sous-chef at the Michelin-starred Palace Hotel, further refining his craft and expertise.
Crafting Unique Pastries
Founded in Osaka in 2022, Masahiko Ozumi Paris is known for crafting pastries that look like art pieces. Utilizing cutting-edge 3D CAD technology, the store creates innovative cakes that are not only delicious but visually stunning. After opening additional locations at Hankyu Umeda in 2023 and Yodoyabashi in 2024, the upcoming Tokyo location aims to bring its distinct brand of gourmet offerings to a wider audience.
Exciting Offerings at Daimaru Tokyo
Tokyo Station serves as a prime gateway for many travelers, making it an ideal location for Masahiko Ozumi Paris. They plan to introduce a range of beloved desserts, including their signature
Zabuton Montblanc, which has gained popularity for its unique cushion-like shape and delightful flavor profiles. The cake combines Japanese chestnut mousse, transforming traditional flavors into a modern treat that appeals to both locals and tourists alike.
In addition, the Tokyo store will also offer limited-edition flavors and baked goods that won't be available anywhere else, promising a unique experience for customers. The
Zabuton Mignon, a palm-sized cookie canister especially designed to celebrate the iconic red bricks of Tokyo Station, will feature rich hazelnut praline sandwiched between crunchy cookies.
Seamless Convenience
For those looking for a convenient takeaway option, customers will be able to purchase frozen versions of the
Zabuton Montblanc ready to heat and enjoy at home. Each dessert is thoughtfully packaged for easy transport, ensuring that even visitors from afar can indulge in the sweet delights without worry.
