Therme Group Unveils Plans for First U.S. Wellness Center in Dallas

Therme Group's Vision for Urban Wellness in Dallas

Therme Group, a leader in wellness facilities globally, has announced Dallas as the launch site for its innovative urban retreat concept in the United States. This new venue aims to create a vibrant oasis in the heart of the city, designed to foster wellness and community engagement.

After a year of discussions with various local stakeholders, including residents of the Cedars neighborhood and city officials, Therme Group has initiated plans to construct the first-ever Therme facility in the U.S. Once approved by the Dallas city council, Therme Dallas will introduce a revolutionary approach to urban wellness.

The proposed center will encompass tens of thousands of square feet and include a range of wellness amenities such as thermal baths, saunas, mineral pools, lush greenery, water slides, poolside bars, and diverse dining options. Therme Dallas will cater to everyone, providing a space for family fun, relaxation, and socialization, ultimately enhancing physical, mental, and social well-being while fostering a sense of community.

Robert Hanea, CEO of Therme Group, expressed his excitement for the project, stating, "We take pride in introducing our concept of affordable world-class wellness and relaxation in the U.S. Dallas is perfectly situated to showcase our vision, which aims to provide extraordinary experiences for the residents and visitors, enhancing the city’s economic and social vitality."

The location at the Trinity River, with its natural beauty and proximity to the Dallas Water Commons and the Cedars area, offers an ideal backdrop for this wellness center. Located near the newly renovated Dallas Convention Center and planned high-speed rail terminal, as well as various entertainment and dining options, Therme Dallas will seamlessly connect the city’s natural landmarks with its urban core, creating a sustainable hub for holistic wellness.

John Alschuler, CEO of Therme Group U.S., emphasized that Dallas's rapid growth makes it an optimal location for their first U.S. project. He stated, "As we expand in the United States and worldwide, cities like Dallas, which support innovation and long-term growth, are our priority. Therme Dallas will not just be a recreational site; it will set a new standard for urban wellness, creating a space that promotes community vitality and cultural integration."

Pending city council approval, the Therme Dallas project is projected to significantly impact the local economy, generating hundreds of jobs and collaborating with local businesses, colleges, and universities. The project is expected to yield over $1.8 billion in tax revenues over the first 30 years, including $1.1 billion in local tax revenues and an additional $700 million in state revenues funneled back to the city through a project financing district.

City Council member Jesse Moreno of District 2 noted, "Dallas is a city of opportunities, attracting many international companies. I believe Therme Group will substantially contribute to economic growth in our community while improving the quality of life. I look forward to working with Therme as they engage with community members and stakeholders in the coming months."

Building on the success of its European wellness centers, which have welcomed over 40 million guests, Therme Group delivers a unique ecosystem of experiences that focuses on holistic wellness. The group’s investments in research deepen their understanding of integrative health, continuously enhancing their technological capabilities and scientifically-based environments geared towards a broad audience.

Robert Hammond, President and Chief Strategy Officer of Therme Group U.S., highlighted that Therme Dallas will redefine urban spaces, creating a holistic solution that reconnects users with nature, themselves, and each other. Most modern social infrastructure consists of isolated spaces—parks, restaurants, museums, spas—all functioning in silos. There’s a growing demand for integrated environments that unite green spaces, water features, and community-oriented amenities into a cohesive whole.

Therme Group stands uniquely poised to meet this critical need for new urban spaces prioritizing collective well-being. Established in 2011, the company focuses on merging contemporary advancements with time-honored traditions that have supported health and social connections for millennia. Their mission is to enable inclusive urban wellness on a grand scale.
