Epson Unveils TAA-Compliant Document Scanners

Epson America recently announced an expansion to their range of desktop document scanners, introducing models specifically built to comply with the Trade Agreements Act (TAA). This move aims to support the growing needs of federal government agencies, which require scanners that are not only efficient but also meet stringent compliance standards.

The newly launched TAA-compliant scanners include the DS-530 II, DS-730N, and DS-870 models, each designed for superior reliability and performance. These scanners integrate seamlessly with document management solutions, thanks to supported drivers like TWAIN and ISIS, facilitating easy connection to various systems.

Expanded Features for Enhanced Productivity

In an effort to provide federal agencies with tailored solutions for their documentation processes, Epson has crafted these scanning devices to support high-volume workflows. Each model offers different capacities and speeds:

• - DS-530 II TAA: Featuring a 50-page Auto Document Feeder (ADF) with speeds of up to 35 pages per minute (ppm) and a peak daily duty cycle of 5,500 sheets. This model is designed for everyday office tasks, ensuring that users can manage their documents effectively.

• - DS-730N TAA: This scanner adds built-in Ethernet connectivity for easy sharing across workgroups, maximizing operational efficiency. It boasts scanning speeds of up to 40 ppm, accommodating a peak duty cycle of 6,500 sheets, making it suitable for busy environments.

• - DS-870 TAA: Aimed at high-volume workgroups, the DS-870 delivers exceptional speeds of up to 65 ppm, complemented by a robust 100-page ADF and a maximum duty cycle of up to 10,000 sheets. Users will also appreciate the included intuitive color LCD display, simplifying navigation through various settings and scan tasks.

These advanced scanners not only ensure smooth operations but also incorporate smart features like blank page removal and dirt detection, promoting automated efficiencies.
