CATL Launches Largest Post-Sales Center for New Energy Sector in the Middle East
CATL Expands Its Footprint in the Middle East
On January 10, 2026, CATL launched its first NING SERVICE Experience Center in Riyadh, marking a significant milestone as the largest post-sales facility for the new energy sector outside of China. This strategic move aims to strengthen CATL's presence in the region while also supporting its transition to cleaner energy systems.
The Vision Behind the Center
The opening comes at a crucial time as Saudi Arabia and the broader Middle East work towards ambitious electrification and decarbonization goals in alignment with Vision 2030 and similar national initiatives. Saudi Arabia aims for electric vehicles to constitute 30% of all vehicles in Riyadh by 2030 as part of its broader strategy to cut emissions by 50%. The initiative also includes promoting the use of electric equipment and green energy solutions across various sectors, such as electric forklifts in logistics and renewable energy sources on farms.
Despite these efforts, challenges such as long-term dependence on oil, rapidly growing electricity demand, extreme weather conditions, and limited charging and service infrastructure pose significant hurdles. The center in Riyadh is designed with the mission of overcoming these challenges by offering comprehensive post-sales support throughout the entire lifecycle of new energy products.
Features of the NING SERVICE Experience Center
Spanning over 7,000 square meters, the center combines exhibition spaces, diagnostic and maintenance zones, refurbishment facilities, training areas, and lounges for customers. It serves not only as a local service hub for the region but also as a showcase for CATL's capabilities in electric mobility, energy storage, and smart electrification. Additionally, it's intended as a collaborative platform connecting various partners and resources to facilitate synergies across the entire ecosystem.
Comprehensive Services for the New Energy Sector
The NING SERVICE Experience Center is grounded in CATL's extensive research and development and cutting-edge manufacturing capabilities. It provides a wide array of services over the entire lifecycle of products, including battery diagnostics, repairs, maintenance, retrofitting, training, recycling, after-sales logistics, and storage solutions. This service portfolio encompasses seven primary product categories, ranging from personal and commercial vehicles to energy storage systems.
By implementing advanced diagnostic and repair competencies, the center aids corporate clients in reducing downtime, lowering maintenance costs, and prolonging the lifespan of assets. Furthermore, it enhances confidence in long-term performance and residual value, contributing to lower overall ownership costs and delivering more cost-effective and reliable services to end-users.
Strengthening Local Capacities and Expertise
The Riyadh facility plays a crucial role in CATL's localized operations in the Middle East, fostering talent development and creating long-term value within the region. By establishing dedicated training spaces, CATL is committed to building post-sales and technical knowledge in the new energy sector. This initiative contributes to the development of skilled jobs and knowledge transfer across the Middle East. Globally, CATL operates 10 training centers totaling 2,300 square meters and has certified over 9,700 post-sales professionals in the new energy sector in cooperation with vocational schools.
In addition to talent development, CATL enhances its localization strategy by strengthening local infrastructure and forming partnerships within the ecosystem. The company is in negotiations with leading local players, including gas station operators, to quickly secure the supply of green electricity, and with major infrastructure firms regarding the electrification of truck fleets, as well as with energy companies on implementing solar-plus-storage solutions.
Collaboration with Industry Leaders
"As one of the leading energy companies in Saudi Arabia, we see tremendous opportunities in energy transformation. For instance, we plan to roll out solar-plus-storage solutions at our gas stations and electrify forklifts to reduce our dependence on oil. We look forward to collaborating with leaders like CATL to propel this transition forward," stated Ahmed Ibrahim, Assistant General Manager for Procurement at Al Drees, a top oil and logistics service provider in Saudi Arabia.
The launch of CATL's flagship post-sales operation in Riyadh emphasizes a shared commitment to accelerating global energy transformation. This milestone not only reflects rising demand for sustainable solutions in Saudi Arabia but embodies a mutual vision for a cleaner and electrified future.
Expanding a Global Network
The opening of the center in Saudi Arabia builds upon CATL's global service infrastructure, which includes more than 1,200 professional service stations in 76 countries and 73 spare parts warehouses worldwide. CATL is a world leader in spare parts inventory, boasting 100% original components and a total warehouse area exceeding 370,000 square meters. NING SERVICE has already supported over six million electric vehicles, providing professional post-sales services to customers in the personal vehicle, commercial vehicle, and energy storage sectors.
Commitment to the Middle East
Bruce Li, President of Quality Systems, After-Sales Services, and Battery Management at CATL, emphasized that the Riyadh center reflects the company's strategic and long-term vision for the region. "Our decision to establish this center in Riyadh is not just a commercial choice but a long-term commitment. As the first NING SERVICE Experience Center in the Middle East, it is more than just a service facility. It is an ecosystem node for the new energy sector's aftermarket, fusing advanced technology, professional training, and industry coordination to effectively connect diverse actors and resources, promoting deeper synergies and sustainable growth across the region. From here, CATL will expand its after-sales service network in the Middle East, closely aligning with Saudi Vision 2030 and supporting the region's energy transformation through a reliable comprehensive service system."
As the Middle East accelerates its transition towards electrification and energy storage solutions, the enhanced presence of CATL's NING SERVICE is poised to bring technical reliability and long-term partnerships that are critical to this transformation.
