Join Us for the First Bipedal Humanoid AI Hackathon in Kansai

Announcement: Participation Recruitment for a Unique Hackathon

Wiltec, a company specializing in comprehensive manufacturing solutions, is excited to announce its collaboration with RobotMateHub for the first bipedal humanoid robot hackathon in the Kansai region, titled 'Wiltec Physical AI Hackathon powered by RobotMateHub.' This event is set to take place from November 14 to 15, 2026, at Wiltec's headquarters, the Project Design Center located in Suita, Osaka. As of today, we are officially opening participant registration for this innovative hackathon.

Partnership Highlights

Wiltec, which has extensive knowledge in the use of autonomous delivery robots, is joining forces with RobotMateHub, which has hosted three successful humanoid hackathons over the last three months, including Japan's first. This partnership aims to tackle the notable shortage of individuals skilled in handling humanoid robots and to address challenges faced in manufacturing and logistics in the Kansai region.

Participants do not need prior experience in robot development to enroll, and any interested parties can register through the designated application page.

Objectives of the Hackathon

This event is not just a competition but a foundational step toward the continued development of talent within the robotics field. The hackathon will focus on several key areas:
1. Enhancement of Humanoid Hackathons in Kansai: This is the first in a series of hackathons aimed at nurturing the next generation of humanoid technology specialists in the region.
2. Support for Entering Humanoid Business: We aim to facilitate companies aiming to innovate and enter the humanoid robotics industry.
3. Community Engagement and Education: Initiatives will be developed for human resource training, including educational children's robotics events.

The Need for Humanoids in the Industry

Growth Market amidst Workforce Shortage

Japan's industrial sector is facing a crisis due to a significant decline in the labor force. The automation of manufacturing, logistics, and warehouse operations has become crucial. Since our establishment in 1992, Wiltec has supported various manufacturing processes, and we recognize robotic services, especially autonomous delivery robots, as key players in this next growth market. We are committed to enhancing our 'Robotic Solutions Platform,' which encompasses sales, implementation, maintenance, and support services from a single source.

Role of the Project Design Center

Located in Osaka, the Project Design Center serves as our fundamental site for the manufacturing of innovative solutions. Its core activities revolve around:
  • - Demonstrating and Solving: Providing participants with hands-on experiences through live demonstrations to inspire practical automation solutions.
  • - Proof of Concept (PoC): Evaluating the practicality and effectiveness of various robotic systems through trials and testing.
  • - Problem-Based Learning (PBL): Training the next generation of engineers who will maintain and implement robotic solutions.

Advancing Humanoid Robotics and Talent Development

Recently, bipedal humanoid robots and physical AI technology have entered a new phase of practical application. However, the lack of personnel skilled in deploying and managing these technologies poses a grave challenge. In cooperation with RobotMateHub, which has led multiple humanoid hackathons in Japan, Wiltec aims to bridge the gap between existing knowledge and demand for personnel skilled in humanoid robotics.
