Experience the Flavor of Yamanashi with Our Unique Semi-Buffet Dinner Event

Discover Yamanashi’s Rich Flavors at Fuji Marriott Hotel Yamanakako

The Fuji Marriott Hotel Yamanakako, located in the picturesque Yamanashi Prefecture, is set to launch an exciting culinary event titled "Smoke & Grill Semi-Buffet Dinner – YAMANASHI Wine Mariage" from September 1 to November 30, 2025. This semi-buffet dinner is a celebration of seasonal flavors inspired by the region’s rich agricultural heritage and features a delightful selection of Yamanashi wines served in traditional one-sho bottles.

A Gastronomic Journey through Yamanashi

The centerpiece of this special dining experience is the abundant local produce, including game meats and autumn vegetables. Guests can indulge in a variety of buffet dishes that are enhanced with a unique smoky flavor. One highlight is the roast of "Koshu Wine Ostrich", which is raised on grape pomace, a byproduct of the winemaking process. Paired with smoked salt, it boasts a tender and moist texture that is sure to please.

In addition to these delectable dishes, diners will also have the chance to savor the traditional "one-sho wine", a cultural staple in Yamanashi. This practice dates back to the late Taisho era when local grape farmers made wine for personal use and stored it in empty sake bottles. At that time, the lack of wine bottle production made large one-sho bottles an ideal and accessible option for households. This tradition has evolved, and the style of drinking wine from tea cups or glasses has become a beloved custom among the locals, especially enjoyed before dinner.

A Unique Wine Selection

As part of the experience, diners can enjoy six carefully selected types of one-sho wine from local vineyards in a free-flowing manner. With each pour into the tea cup, guests will discover the unpretentious pleasure of Yamanashi’s wines. The gentle autumn breeze from Lake Yamanaka will intertwine with the lingering flavors of the one-sho wines, offering a truly immersive experience of the region’s culinary delights.
