Exploring the Future of University Admission Evaluation: A Seminar Overview

The Kawai Juku Educational Corporation is excited to announce the third installment of its online seminar series titled "Multi-faceted Evaluation Support in University Admissions". This engaging session will take place on August 25th, from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM, and will be directed towards university and high school faculty involved in university admissions processes.

Insights from Prominent Guest Speakers

The seminar will feature insightful presentations from esteemed speakers, including Professor Yosuke Takasawa from Shibaura Institute of Technology, Vice President Hiroshi Nishigori from Saga University, and Mr. Mamoru Murakami from Tokyo University of Science. All of them will share practical case studies highlighting the importance of nurturing high school students' skills and abilities through effective educational programs. Such programs are specifically tailored to bridge the gap between high school education and university expectations, ensuring students are well-prepared for their academic futures.

The recent trend towards universities engaging in high school educational processes has become increasingly prevalent. Programs supporting 'Comprehensive Inquiry Time' and unique initiatives aimed at secondary school students are becoming more common. Such collaborations can enrich students' diverse talents and competencies, aligning closely with the evolving landscape of university entrance exams which now place considerable emphasis on multi-faceted, comprehensive evaluations of potential candidates.

Examining Best Practices for High School-University Connections

During this seminar, the invited guests will discuss the ideal approaches to fostering high school-university connections. Institutions across Japan are actively implementing various frameworks and initiatives to support student growth. For example:
  • - Shibaura Institute of Technology has developed a dedicated SS Career Development Course.
  • - Saga University is running a Continuing Development-type High School-University Collaboration Curriculum as part of its Tobira Project.
  • - Tokyo University of Science has introduced the Inquiry Seminar OPEN MISSION.

Each of these programs represents an innovative effort to promote student engagement and skill development throughout their high school journey, with particular attention to the transition to university.

Following the presentations, attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a panel discussion led by the speakers, where they will delve further into the future vision of high-school and university collaboration. One notable feature of the seminar will be the introduction of the J-Bridge System, designed to enhance the transition process.

Attendance and Registration

This seminar provides a valuable opportunity for all educators involved in high school-university transitions, irrespective of their current engagement level. Media members are also warmly welcomed to join this insightful discussion and are encouraged to share and promote the seminar details within their platforms.
