On June 16, 2026, Zoomlion Heavy Industry Science & Technology Co., Ltd. hosted its seventh Science and Technology Innovation Conference in Changsha, China. This event served as a platform to unveil a staggering array of over 130 innovative products and technologies, highlighting the company's commitment to artificial intelligence (AI), intelligent equipment, and sustainable practices.
The theme for this year's conference was centered around AI and global development, reinforcing Zoomlion's vision for integrating cutting-edge technology into its operations. Among the groundbreaking exhibits were the world's largest-tonnage hybrid mining truck, the tallest aerial work platform at an impressive height of 82 meters, and an industry-first hydrogen-powered drone weighing 100kg. These showcases illustrate Zoomlion's technological advancement and commitment to eco-friendly solutions.
In addition to the physical exhibits, the event also featured intelligent systems that included remote-operated tower cranes and robots designed for specialized tasks such as firefighting and levee inspections. Zoomlion's Chairman and CEO, Zhan Chunxin, emphasized the importance of utilizing AI as a vital tool for enhancing industry practices and business management. Zoomlion dedicates approximately 8% of its annual revenue to research and development (R&D), a strategy that has allowed it to tackle long-standing engineering challenges effectively. Zhan announced plans for further overseas R&D initiatives, encouraging engineers to engage in localized product development and certification to cater to various regional markets. This strategic move has already borne fruit, as evidenced by Zoomlion's international revenue of 30.5 billion yuan ($4.4 billion) in 2025, representing about 59% of total sales.
The conference also served as a platform to honor 84 remarkable achievements in science and technology, with awards distributed across various categories, including product development and digital technology. The total bonuses awarded reached an impressive 22 million yuan ($3.3 million). Notably, the Future Value Award was given to Zoomlion’s industrial tech unit, ZValley, for its development of a 1.3-meter bipedal humanoid robot.
To further encourage innovation among upcoming talents, two new awards were introduced to acknowledge outstanding early-career researchers, showcasing Zoomlion's commitment to fostering a culture of development and growth.
The event took place at the global headquarters and research facility of Zoomlion Smart City, which has been recognized as one of China’s leading smart factories at the 2025 World Intelligent Manufacturing Conference.
