Yamaha Guitars Celebrates 60 Years of Craftsmanship and Innovation at The NAMM Show 2026

Yamaha, the world's preeminent manufacturer of musical instruments, is celebrating a monumental milestone: the 60th anniversary of their guitar manufacturing. This celebration kickstarts at the NAMM Show 2026, where Yamaha will unveil exclusive models, host artist performances, and pay tribute to its profound legacy within the guitar industry.

Since the inception of its guitar production in 1966, Yamaha has continued to be a beacon of quality and innovation, inspiring countless guitarists at all levels. As part of their anniversary celebration, Yamaha is showcasing two limited-edition models that embody the brand's quintessential craftsmanship:

Exclusive Anniversary Models

The 60th Anniversary Revstar Professional (RSP20B 60TH NBB) takes center stage, showcasing a stunning evolution of the original Revstar design. It features a beautifully crafted flame maple top with a Noble Black Burst finish, ornate gold hardware, and unique accents for the anniversary. This model is limited to just 65 pieces in the U.S. and 200 globally, promising to be a prized possession for discerning electric guitarists and collectors alike.

The second limited edition, the 60th Anniversary FG9 Acoustic Guitar (FG9 60TH NT), is tailored for the acoustic enthusiast. Designed as a dreadnought style, this model boasts an Adirondack spruce top complemented by exquisite Guatemalan rosewood for the back and sides. It even features a washi-paper inner label and an anniversary stamp on the headstock, with only 25 units available in the U.S. and 100 worldwide, positioning it as an exceptional collector's item.

Exciting New Additions

In addition to these anniversary models, Yamaha is thrilled to introduce new additions to its acclaimed guitar lineup, including the Chris Buck Signature Revstar (RS02CB HG). Crafted with the artist's insights, this custom model includes custom-voiced P-90-style pickups, a wraparound bridge, and further innovative features within a Honey Gold finish. It's designed to inspire music creators in their pursuit of unique soundscapes.

Moreover, Yamaha's new Pacifica SC Series and the second-generation TAS3 C TransAcoustic guitar continue to demonstrate Yamaha's commitment to innovation. These products ensure that every guitarist, irrespective of their experience, has access to premium-quality instruments.

Yoh Watanabe, Yamaha's marketing director for guitars, states, "The 60th anniversary not only embodies a celebration of our storied past but also signals a bold statement about our future. Every Yamaha guitar is a reflection of our craftsmanship tradition combined with cutting-edge engineering, all made with the intention to empower musicians to express themselves through music."

The festivities will be further enriched with live performances at the Yamaha Grand Plaza Stage. On Thursday, January 22 at 1 p.m., attendees can enjoy a performance by Cardinal Black, featuring Chris Buck on his signature Revstar guitar.
