Discover the Convenience of Quick Cooking with Frozen Vegetables
On September 28, a unique cooking event took place at the Kai Center in Kai City, Yamanashi Prefecture, organized by the Palsystem Yamanashi Nagano coop. This event was not just about cooking; it seamlessly combined information sharing and hands-on experience in preparing meals with frozen vegetables and vegetable purées. Participants, mainly users of Palsystem products, gathered to learn the best ways to create quick and healthy dishes.
During the event, attendees learned how versatile frozen produce can be in day-to-day cooking. Using high-quality ingredients sourced directly from northern Hokkaido, including the incredibly sweet ‘Super Sweet’ corn, participants were introduced to a range of recipes. From homemade corn soup to mixed vegetable meatloaf, the focus was on minimizing prep time while maximizing flavor.
One of the highlights of the session was the YumYum Series products designed specifically for easy meal preparation, especially helpful for families with young children. This series allows for a smoother transition into solid foods for infants while also making cooking less labor-intensive for busy parents. The delicious corn soup served at the event utilized Palsystem's ‘yumyum puréed corn’ to create a creamy texture without unnecessary additives.
The event featured experienced cooks who had completed the Palsystem Life Assistant (PLA) course, enabling them to convey their hands-on knowledge effectively. These instructors shared personal insights into Palsystem’s philosophy in product development and the significance of sourcing local ingredients. Participants gained valuable perspective on how the products are made with a commitment to quality, safety, and environmental sustainability.
Additionally, the dishes created during the event included brown rice meatloaf, sweet potato cup cakes, and carrot dressing, all highlighting the ease of cooking with these time-saving ingredients. The instructors provided practical tips on how to make weekdays simpler without compromising on nutrition.
Participants also learned about the nutritional benefits of frozen vegetables. Often considered inferior, it was emphasized that these ingredients retain most of their nutritional value and provide a convenient solution for quick meal prep. With the current market inundated with imported food options, this experience showcased the advantages of selecting Japanese-grown products that ensure both quality and traceability.
