Exciting Announcement: Train Sim World 7 Launches This September with New Features!

Train Sim World 7 Announced at Gamescom

Dovetail Games, based in Kent, UK, has officially revealed the latest installment in their acclaimed train simulation series, Train Sim World 7, during the Gamescom Opening Night Live pre-show. The game is set to be released on September 16, 2026, at midnight Japan time, for platforms including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Steam Deck. Pre-orders are currently available.

The newly unveiled Train Sim World 7 will delight fans with an array of new routes, gameplay mechanics, and the much-anticipated inclusion of various vehicles. Among these, the highlight is undoubtedly the ICE 4 from Germany—a train eagerly awaited by fans, capable of reaching speeds up to 265 km/h. Players will have the opportunity to navigate the scenic 105 km route from Nuremberg to Würzburg aboard this impressive train.

In addition to the ICE 4, players can look forward to a collection of new trains including the GP49H-3, BL36PH, DB BR 440, Class 333, and Class 331. The game promises a range of new railway adventures set across stunning locations in Bavaria, Yorkshire, and sunny Miami.

New Features and Expansive Gameplay

The excitement continues with the introduction of six new vehicles and three unique routes. In the UK, fans will enjoy the tranquil Airedale & Wharfedale Network, showcasing the picturesque Yorkshire countryside. Meanwhile, in Germany, the Bahnstrecke Nürnberg – Würzburg route will offer an immersive experience set in Bavaria. In the United States, the Florida Tri-Rail will provide another sun-soaked journey.

Expansive Features Including Freight Hauler Mode

One of the standout new features is the Freight Hauler Mode, allowing players to assemble and transport freight trains without the constraints of schedules or directives. This mode elevates the gameplay experience by introducing more freedom in transporting goods.

Moreover, the Live Weather feature will simulate real-world conditions within the game. If it’s sunny in Miami or raining in Yorkshire, the game will reflect these conditions, further enhancing the immersion.

For PC players, a new graphics setting, dubbed Epic, will bring unprecedented visual quality, improving lighting, draw distance, and overall performance. Load times have been reduced, ensuring a smoother experience with enhanced camera functions to better track train movements. Additional features like NPC conductor functions and default-ing safety systems will also be included.

Revolutionizing Accessibility with Streamlined Controls

Train Sim World 7 is set to be the series' first title compatible with the Steam Deck, allowing players the flexibility to enjoy realistic train experiences anytime, anywhere. For newcomers to the series, adjusted controls are designed to simplify operations, making it easier than ever to drive trains with an emphasis on the throttle and brake, ensuring that players can casually enjoy the scenic views.
