Huawei's AI Data Center Solution Sets New Standards in Computing Infrastructure for Future Growth

Huawei's AI Data Center Solution: A New Era of Intelligent Computing

On May 13, 2025, Dubai hosted the Global Data Center Facility Summit 2025 under the theme "Power the Digital Era Forward." This significant event gathered over 500 leaders, technical experts, and partners involved in the intelligent computing industry. The summit served as a platform for discussing prospective growth opportunities and pathways for the data center sector in the age of AI. Notably, Huawei unveiled its AI Data Center Solution, marking a great leap towards intelligent computing.

In his keynote, Charles Yang, President of Global Marketing and Sales at Huawei Digital Power, emphasized the arrival of a golden era for computing infrastructure, fueled by the widespread application of AI across various industries. He projected that by 2028, global AI Data Center capacity would surpass 100 GW, opening up a lucrative market estimated to exceed $600 billion in energy infrastructure alone.

During the summit, Yang pointed out three primary challenges facing the development of AI Data Centers: enhanced reliability, rapid deployment, and rising energy demands. He highlighted key trends expected to shape the future of AI Data Centers:

1. Enhancing Reliability Through Architectural Innovations: Prioritizing reliability, Huawei advocates for adopting power supply systems grounded in isolated architecture to significantly increase system reliability.

2. Accelerating Construction With Modular and Prefabricated Designs: The introduction of Huawei's Outdoor PowerPOD, featuring a fully decoupled architecture, allows for one power system per container. This innovation can substantially reduce time-to-market (TTM) for new deployments.

3. Boosting Energy Efficiency via Green Power Sources: By enabling direct solar energy supplies and optimizing efficiency through AI-based systems, Huawei aims to elevate overall energy efficiency in Data Centers.

Bob He, Vice President of Huawei Digital Power, also shared insights in a speech titled "Building a Robust Foundation for the Intelligent Computing Era." He acknowledged the rapid growth in intelligent computing centers while noting challenges related to swift delivery, scalability, and minimizing total cost of ownership (TCO). In response, Huawei introduced its RASTM principles for AI Data Center construction:

  • - Reliable: Ensuring full-lifecycle reliability across all products, architectures, and services.
  • - Agile: Making AI Data Centers adaptable to meet fluctuating demands in AI service.
  • - Sustainable: Prioritizing efficiency in power supply systems and emphasizing parallel system efficiency.

Among Huawei's innovations, the SmartLi system features an end-to-end safety defense mechanism that protects against potential service disruptions due to accidents. In addition, the modular UPS5000-H device boasts an impressive 97.5% efficiency for individual units, reaching up to 99.1% in S-ECO mode for optimal operational efficiency.

In collaboration with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), Huawei, alongside Alibaba Cloud, China Mobile, and other partners, unveiled a White Paper focusing on the safety of lithium-ion battery applications in Data Centers. This document outlines seven essential safety measures that aim to enhance the reliability and quality of Data Centers dramatically.

Looking ahead, Huawei Digital Power is committed to advancing the Data Center industry by pushing technological boundaries and offering cutting-edge products and solutions. As Huawei collaborates with its partners, it seeks to construct intelligent computing centers characterized by fast implementation, comprehensive reliability, optimal TCO, and exceptional flexibility—paving the way for a forward-thinking digital era.

The significance of this announcement extends beyond immediate technological advancements; it also positions Huawei and its partners to be key players in shaping the future landscape of intelligent computing.

In conclusion, Huawei's introduction of the AI Data Center Solution signifies a significant step toward innovating the digital universe. With a focus on reliability, agility, and sustainability, the company is set to influence the high-quality development of Data Centers worldwide, delivering substantial impact in advancing intelligent computing.
