Building Freedom: A Unique LEGO Urban Planning Event for Kids

On April 26, 2026, TOTSU GROUP organized an exciting urban planning event for children at the iconic Tokyo Tower's main deck, "club 333." Titled "TOTSU GROUP presents: Let's Build a Freer City! in Tokyo Tower," this event focused on engaging kids in hands-on learning experiences using LEGO blocks. The company, known for its diverse real estate ventures in Tokyo, is committed to fostering creativity and imagination among the next generation by hosting this interactive program aimed at teaching urban planning through play.

This event was a continuation of TOTSU GROUP's previous initiative, the "Urban Development Freedom Operation," launched in 2025, which aimed to redefine real estate and urban planning. The company has participated in various sectors, from real estate development to hotel management, and actively promotes the enhancement of urban value through collaborations, such as sponsoring the Tokyo Diamond Tour at Tokyo Tower.

The primary objective of this event was to inspire children to unleash their creativity and imagination for future urban settings while providing a platform for collaborative building. Within the venue, kids had access to three distinct zones: 'Workshops,' 'Building,' and 'Duplo Block Space,' each designed to cater to various ages and interests.

Building Zone

The central attraction was the Building Zone located in the heart of "Club 333." Kids had the chance to create their vision of the "house of the future" or the "ideal tower" using LEGO blocks. As time went on, participants' contributions turned into a collective masterpiece: a futuristic city constructed by the children themselves. The area showcased imaginative creations, including pyramid-shaped towers and vibrant buildings adorned with flowers and trees, representing a unique urban landscape that reflected the dreams and playfulness of the children.

Workshop Zone

In the Workshop Zone, certified LEGO instructors conducted hands-on activities themed around "Let’s Build a Freer City!" Participants learned structural design principles by striving to create tall, stable, and rotating structures. As they collaborated and exchanged ideas on how to improve their designs, kids engaged in meaningful discussions about problem-solving and construction. Each component of their creations held significance as they learned valuable lessons in structural concepts and innovative thinking.

Duplo Block Space

For the youngest attendees, a dedicated space featuring larger LEGO Duplo blocks was created to ensure a safe and fun environment for pre-schoolers. Families could freely engage with the blocks, and joyful sounds echoed as children proudly displayed their creations to one another. This area fostered an opportunity for young kids to bring their ideas to life while allowing families to create warm memories together, capturing smiles while watching their little ones grow.

Exhibition & Photo Spot

The venue also featured an exhibition displaying the diverse creations made by the children throughout the day. A highlight was the impressive 1-meter tall Tokyo Tower model crafted by Haruka Yamaguchi, the winner of LEGO Masters Japan. Constructed using 2,525 LEGO pieces, this exquisite display quickly became a popular photo spot for visitors. Children admired their assembled creations as they gathered at the foot of the iconic model, beaming with pride at their contributions to the city they collectively envisioned.

With a total attendance of 245 youngsters and their families, the event allowed children to explore the world of urban planning while enjoying an engaging, fun-filled day at one of Tokyo's most recognizable landmarks. In a creative and energetic atmosphere, TOTSU GROUP successfully demonstrated the importance of collaboration and imagination in building a better future.
