On the afternoon of May 2, the Franklin County Visitors Bureau will host a delightful tea event to celebrate the legacy of Harriet Rebecca Lane, born in Mercersburg, Pennsylvania on May 9, 1803. Harriet Lane is historically significant as the niece of President James Buchanan and the First Lady of the United States during his presidency from 1857 to 1861. Each year, this event commemorates her contributions as the First Lady of Franklin County, reinforcing her enduring impact on the community.

The tea gathering will commence at noon, taking place in the Great Room on the second floor of the Franklin County 11/30 Visitors Center, a charming venue perfect for such a traditional social gathering.
