Yutong's Groundbreaking Service Center in Europe
On September 8, 2026, Yutong Bus made a significant leap in the European market by inaugurating its very first comprehensive service center in Stokke, Norway. This new facility is set to revolutionize the maintenance and operational support for electric buses across the region. With a strong focus on enhancing local service capabilities, the center combines various functions under one roof, providing streamlined support to clients.
A One-Stop Solution for Electric Bus Maintenance
Located on a spacious 38,941 square meters, the center includes 6,074 square meters of dedicated building space, of which 2,300 square meters is designated for spare parts storage. This facility features vehicle delivery, after-sales service, parts supply, and training programs—all aimed at supporting the growing number of fully electric buses on the roads of Norway.
"The service center is designed to be a centralized hub for support, featuring ample parts inventory, inspection stations, professional servicing areas, and specialized training equipment," said Jack Li, Yutong’s General Manager for Central and Northern Europe. Yutong aims to assist customers in minimizing total ownership costs while maximizing vehicle uptime.
Comprehensive Services to Enhance Local Operations
The service center's operational ecosystem is tailored to provide extensive support for local bus operators. By fusing parts delivery, diagnostics, maintenance, and professional training, Yutong is equipped to enhance service efficiency and reliability. This direct access to services allows customers to resolve issues swiftly, ensuring that electric buses remain operational and functional throughout their lifespan.
The facility encompasses a customer service area, maintenance and repair zones, a parts warehouse, practical training spaces, and a vehicle exhibition space. Clients can enjoy a complete package of services from vehicle sales and delivery to post-sales repairs and technical training.
Equipped with seven standard service stations and specialized areas for drivetrain repairs and heavy component tasks, the center features advanced technology like four-column lifts, laser measurement systems, braking test equipment, and wheel balancing tools, which are essential for accurately diagnosing issues and performing repairs. The center can handle chassis repairs, high-voltage electrical systems, and even address problems stemming from minor accidents.
Additionally, it facilitates compliance with Norwegian regulations through a dedicated bus inspection line that covers mandatory annual inspections. This line is equipped to test braking systems, lighting, and safety features, ensuring that all vehicles adhere to established standards.
Spare Parts Availability and Efficiency
With a parts warehouse housing 4,500 SKUs of original Yutong spare parts—ranging from batteries to electronic control units—the center reduces waiting times for parts and repairs. This local inventory, coupled with supplementary supplies from a regional distribution center, allows for greater vehicle availability and minimizes downtime, which can be critical for bus operators.
Training for Future Technicians
The facility also serves as a training hub, outfitted with classrooms and practical training areas led by experienced instructors. It incorporates a complete electric bus training platform that covers essential components and systems. This hands-on approach allows technicians to gain valuable skills on actual parts drawn from real vehicles, fostering knowledge retention and practical applications of their training.
Yutong’s dedication to expanding local service competencies aligns with its global service initiative, ‘EnRoute+’. The Stokke service center not only marks a pivotal step in Yutong’s commitment to servicing European clients but also sets the stage for further developments across markets like the Netherlands, Chile, Kazakhstan, and Saudi Arabia. These efforts will promote local repair capabilities and enhance the electrification of public transport.
The new comprehensive service center exemplifies Yutong's ongoing investment in the future of sustainable transportation and demonstrates its commitment to providing reliable and efficient support to enhance public transport accessibility across Europe.
