Introducing dadada: A Men's Innerwear Brand for Sensitive Skin Set to Debut at Tokyo Gift Show
dadada, is set to roll out by Spring 2026. To mark this venture, a brand movie featuring Shinchiro Watanabe, a ballet dancer from Wakayama, was filmed in Amsterdam and is now available on the official website and YouTube channel.
The prototypes of dadada will be showcased at the 100th Tokyo Gift Show, alongside various exhibitions and talk sessions where fitting surveys will be conducted. The insights gained will contribute to the product's refinement and eventual production.
The dadada project represents a collective effort of local Wakayama businesses. Everything from fabric creation to sewing, dyeing, detergent formulation, packaging, and promotion is handled by companies within Wakayama Prefecture. The dadada brand movie captures the essence of the soft fabrics and the dynamic movements of sewing machines, symbolizing the delicate balance of ballet. Ballet's crucial interplay of slow and fast movements inspires the vision of optimization that dadada strives for, blending the art of dance with the ethos of the brand.
Additionally, the film highlights the rich natural landscape of Wakayama—its seas and mountains—while emphasizing the connection to the region’s artisans. We hope viewers will appreciate the craftsmanship echoing through "the knitwear capital of Wakayama."
The production was led by young visual creator Teppei Nakamoto from Vinteo.
The model for this project, Shinchiro Watanabe, hails from Wakayama City. In 2022, during high school, he moved to Europe to pursue ballet. He is set to graduate from the Dutch National Ballet Academy in 2025 and will soon begin his professional career after passing the grand audition. Starting autumn 2025, he plans to join the Bavarian State Ballet in Germany.
