OSIRO Hits 30,000 Book Registrations in 'Book Log'
Osiro Inc., based in Shibuya, Tokyo, has made headlines with their unique community platform "OSIRO," allowing members to share their reading experiences through a new feature called "Book Log." Recently, the platform announced that the total number of registered books has surpassed an impressive 30,000.
The "Book Log" feature is designed to facilitate interaction among community members by enabling them to document and share their reading habits, whether they have read the book or plan to read it. This feature is gaining traction not only in reading communities but also across diverse thematic groups, expanding its usability.
The concept of the "Book Log" allows each community member to register their read, unread, or desired books into a personalized bookshelf. As individuals log their reading progress, their unique collections are automatically generated, not just for personal reflection but for sharing with fellow participants. This fosters a sense of belonging, creating connections over shared literary journeys.
Since its official launch, the number of registered books skyrocketed. Within just five days, 10,000 entries were made, and 30,000 was reached approximately a month and a half later, on January 22, 2026.
How the Feature Works
The "Book Log" categorizes reading status into four easy-to-manage options:
1. Want to Read
2. Currently Reading
3. Read
4. Unread Books
Members can update the status for each book, thus maintaining an organized digital library.
Individual Bookshelves
Within their personal collections, users can perform keyword searches, scan ISBN barcodes, and register books along with their associated cover images. The personal bookshelf not only serves as an organizational tool but also as a medium for self-expression based on individual reading selections.
Community Bookshelf
The collective bookshelf showcases every book registered by community members. This allows members to discover popular titles, newly added books, and insights into who among their peers is exploring what. The community bookshelf acts as a gateway to understanding others' interests, leading to new interactions rooted in a shared love for reading.
Additionally, users can initiate book clubs at a click of a button with the "Event Start-Up Function." This feature also highlights the number of shared titles within the community, visualizing connections through common reading preferences.

Expanding Beyond Reading Communities
The "Book Log" functionality is not exclusively for reading-focused groups. It's being adopted by a variety of communities that emphasize connectivity through literature.
As of January 27, 2026, the community with the most book registrations is chaired by investor Hidetaka Fujino, titled "FLOW's Fushii no Kai." Following that, the management consultant and thinker Keizo Kuramoto leads the "Metabeta" group, and Japan's largest book club community, "Nekomachiklub." Interestingly, of the top ten communities, only two directly focus on books or book clubs, namely "Nekomachiklub" and "Book Community Liber." The remainder seeks to enhance quality of life for women in their 20s and 30s or connects educators nationwide in the "Teacher House" initiative, indicating the broad application of the Book Log functionality.
Future Prospects
Based on feedback from numerous users, many have expressed a desire to know the reasons behind why a member registered a specific book along with brief reflections on it. In response, OSIRO is working on a feature that will allow members to add a comment when they register a book.
Other upcoming enhancements include visualizing recommended books and key titles among community members to enrich the literary ecosystem further. OSIRO aims to continuously improve usability and enjoyment for community administrators and users alike, ensuring a reliable product for all who utilize their services.
