Aquilion Rise: A Pioneering Gold Selection in Design
The Canon Group proudly announces that one of its groundbreaking products, the Aquilion Rise, has been selected as a Gold Selection in the JIDA Design Museum Selection Volume 27, organized by the Japan Industrial Design Association (JIDA). This achievement highlights not only the innovative technology behind the Aquilion Rise, a whole-body X-ray CT diagnostic device but also underscores Canon's commitment to design excellence.
In the selection process, the Aquilion Rise stood out among various products, impressing a special judging committee with its versatility and superior design. This particular CT device supports three imaging modalities: standing, sitting, and lying down, making it a truly multifunctional tool within medical diagnostics.
To further underscore its design merit, the Aquilion Rise has also been awarded the Good Design Best 100 in the 2025 Good Design Awards, further elevating its status in the industry. This is a notable accomplishment, marking the second time since 2020 that a Canon Group product has been recognized within this prestigious Gold Selection.
The exhibition showcasing the selected products will take place from January 16 to 20, 2026, at the AXIS Gallery in Roppongi, Tokyo. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore a selection of products that embody the pinnacle of industrial design, with the Aquilion Rise highlighted as a prime example.
Other Notable Selections
In addition to the Aquilion Rise, several other Canon products have also been selected for this esteemed exhibition:
- - PowerShot V1: A compact digital camera known for its unique features and design.
- - imagePROGRAF TC-21 / TC-21M: Large format inkjet printers designed for professional use.
- - varioPRINT iX1700: A commercial-grade color inkjet digital press tailored for the printing industry.
- - Adastra: A series of semiconductor and electronic components manufactured by Canon Anelva.
It’s worth noting that the Aquilion Rise, the varioPRINT iX1700, and Adastra will be presented as mockups during the exhibition, allowing attendees to appreciate the innovative designs from both functional and aesthetic perspectives.
