Mila-bo Expands Digital Vaccination Services in Minamiuonuma City, Niigata

Mila-bo Enhances Its Digital Health Services

Introduction

Mila-bo, a Tokyo-based company specializing in digital healthcare solutions, has announced an exciting expansion of its services in Minamiuonuma City, Niigata Prefecture. Starting from August 2025, the company will broaden the scope of its digital pre-vaccination questionnaires and health check forms for infants, aimed at streamlining the immunization process and supporting new parents.

Background of the Initiative

Since October 2024, Mila-bo has been working with a partner, iMovic, to develop a comprehensive municipal portal application known as the “Minamiuonuma Residents’ Portal.” This aligns with the introduction of the mila-e Mother-Child Health Handbook App and the mila-e Vaccination Service that provides digital pre-vaccination forms, also set to scale to include an infant health check service starting February 2025. This collaborative effort has encouraged a significant number of parents to utilize these innovative digital questionnaires, demonstrating a strong demand for expanded services.

Given the increasing number of users, the enhancements will allow for coverage of more vaccinations as well as additional health checks aimed at younger children, specifically pre-school age vaccinations (excluding the second stage of the MMR vaccination) and new 2-year-old dental check-ups.

Target Upgrades in Services

Digital Pre-Vaccination Questionnaire: mila-e Vaccination

  • - Targeted Vaccines: The updated service will cover A-class scheduled vaccinations for pre-school children, excluding the MMR vaccination second phase, and continue to provide the BCG vaccination.
- Users can sign up for this service by scanning the QR code specified in the notice received from Minamiuonuma City.

Digital Health Check Questionnaire: mila-e Health Check

  • - Expanded Health Checks: The service will cover two-year dental check-ups (new introduction) alongside continuing the one-and-a-half-year health check (group examination). The target range of health checks will also expand in the upcoming phases.
- Registration for this service is similarly accessible via scanning the QR code in the notice from Minamiuonuma City.

Future Plans and Updates

Mila-bo is committed to an improved service experience for families by continually upgrading and expanding functionalities. Each service aims to foster a robust partnership among local authorities, medical institutions, and parents to enhance operational efficiencies and reduce errors in vaccination schedules.

Comprehensive Service Offerings

  • - mila-e Certification: This public service authentication system allows users to bypass redundant data entry during applications, ensuring a simplified process, validated by Japan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs.
  • - mila-e Application Service: Designed to digitize municipal services, users can complete multiple applications in one go; a significant upgrade for post-natal care businesses.
  • - mila-e Reservation: A digital tool for appointment scheduling pertaining to maternal and child health consultations and events, integrated with the mila-e health record application.
  • - mila-e Digital Coupons: Customized coupons for post-natal care and other health services, enhancing access to essential resources.
