- - Date: March 4, 2026
- - Location: Brunswick, Georgia
King & Prince Seafood®, one of the leading seafood companies in the United States, has announced a significant leadership transition that reaffirms its dedication to quality and innovation. This transition is particularly noteworthy as it marks the retirement of a key figure in the company, Michael Alexander, who has served as President and CEO for the past 15 years. Following a distinguished career, Michael will step down from his position effective April 17, 2026.
A Lasting Legacy
During his tenure, Michael has played a crucial role in steering the company toward growth and strengthening its relationships with both customers and suppliers. His steadfast commitment to the principles of integrity, quality, and service has not only greatly impacted the company's trajectory but also set a high standard within the industry. Under his leadership, King & Prince Seafood has positioned itself for continued success in the competitive seafood market.
In light of his retirement, Takashi Matsumoto, President of Nissui USA, expressed profound gratitude for Michael's contributions to the company. “We are deeply grateful for Michael's contributions to King & Prince Seafood. His impact on our people, our partners, and our performance has been significant. We thank him for his leadership and wish him the very best in his well-earned retirement.” Matsumoto noted that Michael’s legacy will continue to inspire the company's ongoing commitment to excellence.
Introducing Steve Yung
Following Michael Alexander’s retirement, Steve Yung will assume the role of President and CEO on April 20, 2026. Steve is no stranger to the seafood industry, bringing a wealth of experience and a strong focus on customer service to the role. His appointment is seen as a seamless transition, aimed at ensuring continuity in the company's operations while advancing King & Prince Seafood's goals of innovation and operational excellence.
“This transition reflects both stability and forward momentum,” Matsumoto continued. “Steve's leadership will build upon our strong foundation while continuing to deliver the high-quality products, reliability, and service our customers and suppliers expect.”
Commitment to Quality and Operations
Importantly, the leadership change at King & Prince Seafood will not disrupt day-to-day operations. The teams within the company remain fully engaged and committed to delivering industry-leading seafood. As Steve Yung steps into his new role, customers and partners can expect the same dedication to quality and service that has characterized the company’s operations for over a century.
King & Prince Seafood will continue to uphold its mission of providing innovative seafood solutions that help foodservice operators add more seafood to their menus year-round. With a diverse portfolio of beloved brands such as King & Prince®, Mrs. Friday's®, Oceanway®, Sensations®, and Pride of Alaska®, the company is focused on maintaining its promise of “Sea. Taste.
