Siemens Digital Industries Software has announced the renewal of its technical partnership with Ducati Corse for an additional two years. This collaborative effort is aimed at advancing innovation in the motorcycle racing arena, specifically within MotoGP. As the cycling world continues to evolve, both companies are committed to leveraging cutting-edge technology to enhance performance and safety in motorcycle designs.

Massimiliano Bertei, Chief Technology Officer at Ducati Motor Holding, emphasized the significance of this partnership, stating, "Our collaboration with Siemens has not only assisted us in addressing current challenges but has also strategically positioned us for future challenges on the racetrack and in the global market." He highlights the importance of being able to modify motorcycles up to the last minute during race weekends, showcasing the agility provided by Siemens' technologies.

The platform facilitates the seamless integration of data and design, ensuring that teams can work collaboratively and effectively to create advanced motorcycle technologies. For instance, during race weekends, Ducati engineers can utilize Siemens' technology to design new components, which are then rapidly sent to the track, sometimes even printed using 3D technology.

The technology used spans a variety of Siemens' offerings, including Polarion® for requirements management, Designcenter™ NX™ for design innovation, and Teamcenter® for connecting engineering and design data with manufacturing processes. The integration of Simcenter™ for testing and simulation further allows Ducati to gather and analyze data from race conditions, enhancing the feedback loop between design and real-world performance.

"Thanks to Siemens Xcelerator, we have shortened development timelines and fostered full data sharing between our racing division and street motorcycle operations," explained Pietro Mappa, CAD/PLM manager at Ducati Motor Holding. This shift has dismantled silos between departments, allowing for a unified environment where engineers from both the racing and commercial teams collaborate efficiently.

In a successful culmination of their efforts, the Ducati Lenovo team recently claimed the 2025 MotoGP championship, with star rider Marc Márquez not only winning the Riders' Title but also contributing to the team's remarkable achievement of securing its sixth consecutive Constructors' Title.
