She founded WashWise, a modern clothing care company dedicated to redefining how consumers maintain their garments between wears. Understanding the Problem
Menezes recognized that clothing typically spends 99% of its life outside of the washing machine, but most innovations in garment care have focused solely on that 1% spent in the wash. With consumers increasingly repeating outfits, traveling, investing in high-quality items, and stepping into the world of resale and rental fashion, there arose a significant gap in the market for effective between-wear clothing care.
“Everyone has experienced the moment where a piece of clothing isn't dirty enough to wash, but doesn't feel fresh enough to wear again,” says Menezes. This insight led her to create a solution that would allow consumers to extend the life of their clothes without unnecessary washing and dry-cleaning.
