In India alone, 20,000 locations participated in the celebration, demonstrating the event's extensive reach and appeal. The campaign directly impacted almost 2.5 crore individuals, including passionate followers and supporters. The International Art of Giving Day, recognized annually with a unique theme, serves as a platform where individuals come together to affirm their commitment to humanitarian values.
This year's theme, 'Share to Shine,' cleverly encapsulated the idea that sharing happiness not only enriches the lives of others but also fosters personal growth and development. Integral to the celebrations were initiatives aimed at enhancing community spirit and promoting sportsmanship. In Odisha, arrangements were made for the distribution of volleyballs and nets that spanned over 3,000 locations. A total of 9,100 volleyballs were distributed, echoing Dr. Samanta’s vision of enhancing sports as a medium of friendship and camaraderie among youth.
Dr. Achyuta Samanta echoed this sentiment, stating, “What I am today is because of the concept of 'Art of Giving.' I have received the warmth, love, and affection of people because of this movement.” The heart of the celebration culminated in a grand event held in Bhubaneswar, where diverse groups from different sectors of life gathered to partake in the festivities.
During the program, the theme song of the Art of Giving was performed by prominent Hindi playback singer Shaan, captivating the audience and enriching the atmosphere with its heartfelt message. The event was honored by the presence of several distinguished guests, including Rabindra Narayan Behera, MP; tennis legend Leander Paes, recipient of the Padma Bhushan; and Getrul Jigme Rinpoche, a respected Tibetan Buddhist master. Attendees also included various public figures and community leaders, all united in their commitment to the movement.
As part of the occasion, the AOG Hero Awards were presented to individuals recognized for their outstanding contributions to social service. This year’s awardees included notable personalities like Dr. Bidyut Das, Rotarian Ajay Agrawal, and Professor Kumar Debadatta from KIIT University. Each awardee was honored with a cash prize of ₹1 lakh, acknowledging their relentless efforts towards community betterment and welfare.
With the Vice-Chancellor of KIIT and KISS, Prof. Saranjit Singh, and other senior officials in attendance, the event emphasized the collective responsibility of society in uplifting humanity through acts of kindness. The 13th International Art of Giving Day not only highlighted the importance of giving but also showcased the potent spirit of unity transcending cultural and geographical barriers, inspiring millions around the world to embrace generosity.
Through these initiatives and celebratory events, the significance of sharing and giving back to the community remains an enduring message carried forward by the Art of Giving movement, promising to leave a lasting legacy of compassion and goodwill.
