Exciting New EV Charging Campaign Offers Zero-Cost Charging on Weekends

New EV Fast Charging Campaign by iGrid Solutions

In an effort to promote sustainable energy consumption, iGrid Solutions, headquartered in Minato, Tokyo, recently announced an innovative campaign offering electric vehicle (EV) users the opportunity to charge their vehicles for practically free during weekend daytime hours. This initiative, dubbed the “Smart Power Weekend Zero,” is set to run from August 15 to September 13. The campaign targets two locations: Seiyu Omori Store and Trial Seiyu Hanakoganei Store.

Campaign Details

The campaign allows users to benefit from a point rebate that covers the charging fees based on usage. From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekends, every user of the My Plugo app can enjoy a point rebate of up to 30 minutes of charging. This amount is credited back approximately one week post-charge, providing significant incentives for EV owners.

How It Works

1. Eligibility and Duration: The promotion runs on weekends from August 15 to September 13, specifically aimed at charging during the designated hours.
2. Participating Locations:
- Seiyu Omori Store: Located at 6-27-25 Minami-Oi, Shinagawa City, Tokyo.
- Trial Seiyu Hanakoganei Store: Found at 1-2-23 Hanakoganei, Kodaira City, Tokyo.
3. Technical Specifications: The campaign utilizes EV fast chargers, which offer outputs of up to 50 kW, using the CHAdeMO standard.
4. User Guidance: To participate, users must download the My Plugo app, charge their vehicles during the qualifying time, and pay the fee. After approximately one week, the point rebate will reflect on their accounts.

Important Notes

  • - Each user can only redeem the rebate for one charging session (maximum of 30 minutes) per day during this campaign.
  • - Charging that extends beyond the designated time may not qualify for the rebate; for example, charging from 8:45 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. will only allow for a rebate on 15 minutes of usage, regardless of the total time charged.

Alignment with Renewable Energy Goals

iGrid aims to encourage the consumption of renewable energy, particularly during peak production times. The campaign promotes using renewable energy not just by increasing its availability, but also emphasizing its efficient utilization. The Smart Power Weekend Zero program enables families to enjoy lower electricity costs on weekends while supporting sustainability.

Collaboration with Local Businesses

This collaboration with Seiyu and Trial highlights the community commitment to reducing CO2 emissions while providing economic benefits for residents. The initiative is part of a broader project titled “End the Too Hot Summer WEEK,” aimed at raising awareness about the changes in climate and the importance of addressing them collaboratively as a society.
