Discover the Lamb Culinary Adventure at 'Hitsuji no Mori' Opening in Sannomiya, Kobe

Savor the Taste of Lamb at 'Hitsuji no Mori'

On July 17, a new restaurant specializing in lamb dishes, 'Hitsuji no Mori,' will open in the bustling Sannomiya district of Kobe. This unique establishment aims to revamp the dining experience by focusing on the health benefits and rich flavors of lamb, known for being low in fat and high in protein. To introduce food enthusiasts to the world of gourmet lamb, a media preview and tasting event will take place on July 16 from 4 PM to 6 PM.

A Unique Concept Inspired by Sapporo

'Hitsuji no Mori' embraces the traditional Sapporo-style Genghis Khan, a popular way to enjoy lamb in Japan. The restaurant promises an inviting space designed with wood accents that create a warm and bright environment. Diners can choose from counter seating to enjoy the sizzling action of their meal preparation or opt for cozy table seating that encourages relaxation. The highlight of the menu is the 'Shio-dome Aged Lamb,' which is meticulously trimmed and cured with a special salt remedy that softens the characteristic taste of lamb, enhancing its depth and flavor. This makes the dish approachable even for those new to lamb.

A Culinary Journey with Various Lamb Dishes

The menu features a variety of lamb dishes that cater to all palates. Diners can indulge in:
  • - Lamb Tongue with Chopped Green Onion, Salt, and Lemon (¥1,188): A crunchy delicacy served whole and cut for an invigorating texture.
  • - Rare Lamb 'Sagari' (¥1,078): A tender cut known for its subtly rich flavor.
  • - Lamb Chop with Original Lamb Spices (¥1,628): Packed with flavor from the bone surrounding the meat.
  • - Additional items such as Lamb Prosciutto with Seasonal Fruits (¥1,188) and Lamb Bacon Potato Salad (¥858) offer delightful variety.

Each table is equipped with a highball tower, allowing guests to serve drinks of their choosing, adding a fun interactive element to the dining experience.

Beverage and Dessert Options

The drink menu is extensive, featuring options like beer, chuhai, shochu, fruit wines, and soft drinks. Diners can also opt for an all-you-can-drink plan for 90 minutes at ¥1,738, which includes highballs and beer among other beverages. To finish off the meal, patrons can enjoy a refreshing dessert, such as the daily sorbet (¥418).
