GS Microelectronics and Tarana Wireless Forge Partnership to Revolutionize Wireless Connectivity

On March 27, 2026, GS Microelectronics U.S., Inc. (commonly known as GSME) announced a significant strategic partnership with Tarana Wireless, Inc. This collaboration aims to advance radio frequency (RF) transceiver products and further accelerate the growth of wireless technology. This partnership not only strengthens the long-standing relationship between the two companies but also enhances their market position by providing dedicated engineering support for Tarana's RF transceiver products.

The partnership allows GSME to bolster its capabilities in delivering cutting-edge wireless solutions within the global technology landscape. The firms will collaborate to refine Tarana's Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) technology, which is designed to deliver fiber-like performance while remaining cost-effective. Furthermore, GSME intends to propel innovation in the 6G, 7G, and Wi-Fi 7 technology sectors, showing a commitment to leading the next generation of wireless communications.

At the heart of this partnership is GSME's recently acquired RF-Analog team, spearheaded by Didier Margairaz, who serves as the VP of RF and Analog. This team brings critical expertise in RF integrated circuit design, advanced multiple input multiple output (MIMO) configurations, and RF products. Their specialized skills extend across various aspects of RF technology, including millimeter-wave (mmWave) technology, RF transceivers, voltage-controlled oscillators (VCOs), phase-locked loops (PLLs), clock generation, and power management integrated circuits (PMICs).

The partnership will also enhance GSME’s ability to deliver high-performance silicon solutions from design phases to mass production. The RF-Analog team has a proven track record in launching successful products, including high-performance 8T8R Wi-Fi and 4T4R C-band/sub-7GHz solutions.

As stated by Farhat Jahangir, President and CEO of GSME,: "This agreement formalizes a powerful and natural evolution of our relationship with Tarana. We are dedicated to enhancing our high-performance RF transceiver innovation capabilities. Our commitment to engineering excellence will support Tarana's ambitious product roadmaps."

In response, Tarana's President and COO, Sri Reddy, remarked that the cooperation with GSME is crucial for delivering advanced wireless broadband solutions. He emphasized the importance of RF technology and teamwork in ensuring effective development across their platforms. This partnership is expected to provide ongoing expertise while adhering to high standards of performance and reliability in their offerings.

With this strategic alliance, GSME aims to bridge the gap between architectural design and release into mass production, offering integrated expertise for RF and PMIC designs while ensuring high-quality production supported by extensive post-silicon evaluation and test vector generation for automated testing equipment (ATE). An innovative "Flexible Radio" RF integrated circuit (RFIC) proposal that includes advanced transceivers for Wi-Fi 7, cellular platforms, and Fixed Wireless Access use cases has already gained momentum within the partnership.
