Inaugural Nail Care Workshop by KAI Corporation

On October 15, 2025, KAI Corporation, a renowned global knife manufacturer, hosted a groundbreaking nail care workshop at the Gifu City Welfare Activity Center. This initiative aimed to educate individuals with disabilities residing in Gifu City about essential nail care techniques. With a contribution from the Gifu City Disabled Persons Living Support Center, the workshop gathered 20 participants eager to learn the proper way to care for their nails.

A Special Session on Nail Cutting

Since February 2023, the company has been actively conducting special classes in Gifu’s elementary schools, promoting awareness about the importance of nails and the correct methods to cut them. During the session, led by Kimi Yamada, a KAI nail advisor from the Meister Promotion Department, participants were introduced to the anatomy of nails, the optimal times for trimming, and the mechanics behind nail clippers. The practical segment allowed participants to actively engage in hands-on training, where they could practice cutting their nails correctly. Many attendees were pleasantly surprised to discover that there are techniques and tips they had not previously known regarding nail care and the proper way to hold nail clippers.

As the workshop concluded, numerous questions arose regarding nail problems and nail care, reflecting the participants’ newfound knowledge and interest. This interaction not only fostered a community learning environment but also empowered individuals with the skills to maintain their nails independently.
