Aventiv Technologies Celebrates Record Summer Intern Class for Future Innovators
Aventiv Technologies Welcomes Record Number of Summer Interns
Aventiv Technologies, a leader in secure communication solutions for correctional facilities, has recently welcomed the largest cohort of summer interns in its history. This significant move underscores the company's dedication to nurturing the next generation of innovators in the field of correctional technology.
The 11-week paid internship program kicked off in early June with a comprehensive two-day orientation held at the company's headquarters in Plano, Texas. Interns from various universities were introduced to Aventiv's mission, vision, and core values, particularly focusing on how technology can enhance safety, streamline operations, and ultimately improve outcomes in the correctional system.
During their time at Aventiv, interns also engaged in meaningful activities such as packing essential school supplies for local teens through a community service event, contributing not only to community needs but also fostering teamwork and understanding of civic responsibility. Dave Abel, COO of Aventiv Technologies, expressed pride in the interns, noting their fresh perspectives and enthusiasm, which are vital for the company's forward-thinking approach.
The current cohort comprises 17 interns across various departments including communications, engineering, and finance. They are involved in hands-on projects alongside mentors, providing them with invaluable real-world experience in one of the most complex domains of technology today. By working with innovative products like the EVOTAB and Officer T80 tablets, interns are gaining practical knowledge that extends beyond classroom learning.
Coy Wiggins, Director of Talent Acquisition, highlighted the growth of the internship program, noting that this year’s increased cohort size represents a commitment to developing future leaders in the industry. The emphasis is not just on learning technical skills but also on cultivating leadership potential and impact readiness for their career paths.
Intern Dhanush Pulavarthy shared his excitement about the experience, stating, “It’s incredibly inspiring to work at a company that uses its innovation to make a significant difference in people’s lives.” He articulated his personal goal of improving as a problem-solver and leader, underscoring the synergy between purpose-driven work and innovation in the tech sector.
