Advances in Dentistry at the 19th MINISH Course

The recent 19th MINISH Course, held in Seoul, South Korea, on September 12–13 and September 19–20, marked a significant milestone in the realm of restorative dentistry. Over four intensive days, 31 dentists from diverse locations, including New York City and Seattle, gathered to deepen their understanding and practice of MINISH's unique approach. A Growing Community of Dentists

This course not only highlighted the number of graduates but also showcased the evolving nature of the MINISH program. Established MINISH Providers played a pivotal role in guiding participants, enhancing the educational experience with their expertise. The overarching goal of the MINISH Course is to equip dentists with an effective clinical framework for implementing a restorative philosophy grounded in biomimetic principles that focus on preserving healthy tooth structures.

Structured Clinical Approach

Central to the MINISH philosophy is the integration of theory with practice. The four-day intensive course was designed to transition the abstract ideas into tangible clinical applications. It featured a balance of theoretical discussions and hands-on training across critical components of the MINISH Protocol including preparation techniques, bonding methods, considerations for occlusion, and detailed placement techniques.

An exceptional aspect of this latest iteration was the inclusion of 16 active MINISH Providers who acted as clinical faculty. Earlier this year, MINISH USA initiated its continuing education endeavors in North America, hosting a course at the VITA North America Education Center in California. The Seoul program also included participants from cities beyond South Korea, fostering a sense of international community among dentists.

As the program garners traction, graduates are encouraged to become MINISH Providers, expanding the collaborative professional network. Currently, the MINISH Provider network encompasses 143 locations across the globe, including 85 in Japan, 41 in Korea, 15 in the United States, and one each in Canada and Singapore. In North America, relevant metropolitan areas such as Los Angeles, Orange County, the San Francisco Bay Area, Chicago, Las Vegas, and Vancouver play host to these practitioners.

Creating a Collaborative Community

The 19th MINISH Course reflects the commitment to building a comprehensive clinical community around MINISH principles. As part of the growth strategy, around 100 Japanese dentists are scheduled to visit Korea in October for a focused MINISH Course, representing another wave of international engagement.

The scope of MINISH goes beyond providing clinical education; it aims to cultivate a cohesive ecosystem encompassing Provider development, standardized protocols, innovative restorative technologies, and cross-collaboration among dental professionals.
