Fermi America Expands Power with Second Clean Air Permit Application



In a strategic move to bolster its energy generation capabilities, Fermi America™ has submitted a new Clean Air Permit application with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) for an additional 5 GW of power capacity. This application comes right after the company received approval for its initial 6 GW permit last month, demonstrating Fermi's commitment to creating a substantial private energy grid that addresses the increasing demand across various sectors in the United States.

Meeting the Energy Demand

Fermi America’s Project Matador is designed to deliver such certainty by integrating an expected total capacity of approximately 17 GW. This ambitious project is set to utilize roughly 11 GW of clean natural gas generation, complemented by nuclear, solar, and battery energy sources. With 2.5 GW of gas-fired power generation already slated to come online, the company is well-positioned to cover the surging demand for energy without burdening American citizens with costs.

The newly filed application is part of Fermi's vision to develop one of the world's largest next-gen private grid campuses.
