Akafuku Opens Pop-Up Store at Haneda Airport
From September 12 to 24, 2025, Akafuku, a renowned Japanese confectionery company based in Ise, will set up a limited-time store at terminals 1 and 2 of Haneda Airport. This exciting event allows travelers in Tokyo to indulge in traditional Japanese sweets that they might not find elsewhere in the city.
Special Offerings
The store will feature Akafuku's iconic
Akafuku Mochi, along with
Shiro Mochi,
Kuro Mochi, and the much-loved
Akafuku Mizuyokan, a summer specialty that was previously a hit among visitors. In addition to these popular items, Akafuku’s cross-cultural brand
Isuzuchaya will present a variety of delectable snacks such as the
Mochi Dorayaki and the seasonal delicacy
Toki no Yokan Kuri, which encapsulates the flavors of autumn.
Travelers are encouraged to consider these sweets as the perfect souvenirs for autumn trips or gifts for Respect for the Aged Day, which falls during this period.
Akafuku Mizuyokan: A Taste of Summer
One of the standout items,
Akafuku Mizuyokan, is made from red bean paste sourced from Hokkaido, crafted into a refreshing and subtly sweet jelly. The dessert is elegantly presented in a folding box to ensure it remains appealing. Guests can cut it into preferred sizes, enjoying its smooth texture, which provides a delightful experience against the backdrop of the lingering summer heat. To enhance convenience, specialized cooling bags are available for purchase, allowing travelers to carry their treats home safely.
Indulgent Snacks from Isuzuchaya
The
Mochi Dorayaki, a fluffy treat, comes with a filling of finely mashed Hokkaido azuki bean paste wrapped with soft mochi. This product, previously exclusive to Osaka, is now available for the first time at Haneda. The delicate skin of the dorayaki paired with the bean paste and mochi creates a harmonious taste experience.
Moreover,
Toki no Yokan Kuri combines sweet chestnut jelly with red bean paste for a rich flavor that perfectly encapsulates the essence of autumn, making it an ideal gift for the season.
Savory Biscuit: Okage Inu Sable
Customers can also find the
Okage Inu Sable, a biscuit made using premium wheat flour from Mie Prefecture and two types of domestically sourced butter, resulting in a delightful crunch and nutty richness.
