Celebrating Culinary Excellence: Five Vancouver Chefs Inducted into Exclusive Society

Honoring Culinary Greatness: A Night to Remember

On September 18, the vibrant city of Vancouver witnessed a prestigious event that celebrated culinary excellence and honor. Five distinguished culinary leaders were inducted into Les Disciples Escoffier International, an exclusive, invitation-only society founded to uphold the legacy of the legendary French chef Auguste Escoffier. The ceremony was graced by Michel Escoffier, the great-grandson of Auguste Escoffier, who personally conducted the induction, making it a memorable evening for all attendees.

A Celebration at Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts

The induction ceremony took place at the Pacific Institute of Culinary Arts (PICAchef) on Granville Island, a hub of culinary creativity. This highlight of the evening ran from 6 to 8 p.m. and is notable as PICAchef only recently joined the Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts family. The event saw remarkable contributions from culinary students, guided by chefs working tirelessly in the kitchen, preparing delightful dishes that impressed the guests.

Auguste Escoffier, known as both the King of Chefs and Chef of Kings, is revered as the father of modern French cuisine. His educational and structuring impact on the culinary world continues to influence kitchens globally. Les Disciples Escoffier, established in 1954, aims to perpetuate his ideals, focusing on discipline, mentorship, and the generosity of spirit among culinary professionals.
