From May 21 to 25, 2025, Osaka proudly hosted the much-anticipated international fashion event, "Made-in-Shanghai". This was the first overseas edition of the event, themed "Lifestyle Trends of Shanghai - Osaka". The Grand Green Osaka was transformed into a bustling hub of creativity, featuring over 1,000 exhibits from 90 Shanghai-based brands. Displays ranged from fashion and accessories to cosmetics, snacks, sportswear, and innovative tech products, providing a comprehensive panorama of Shanghai's vibrant fashion industry.

The opening ceremony was a star-studded affair attended by dignitaries, design luminaries, and enthusiastic consumers. Mr. FANG Wei, China's deputy consul general in Osaka, highlighted the event's significance in enhancing cultural and commercial ties between Shanghai and Osaka. The overwhelming response from tens of thousands of Japanese visitors demonstrated the strong interest in Shanghai's offerings, especially among local fashion enthusiasts.

The standout area for attendees was "Shanghai Lab", which showcased the latest trends in Shanghai's fashion and beauty sectors. Notably, Yuyuan Road brought 23 talent-rich brands from its creative community, emphasizing an intriguing narrative of urban renewal and modern culture that piqued interest among local fashion professionals.

Another highlight was the Oriental Beauty Valley, which presented a compelling nine-brand matrix. To strengthen business relationships, representatives from the Oriental Beauty Valley and the Shanghai Comprehensive Industrial Development Zone engaged with the Japan Office of the Shanghai Foreign Investment Promotion Center and key Japanese firms such as Exedy.

Additionally, Hankyu Department Store hosted the "WINDow of EAST" pop-up featuring talented Chinese designers, drawing attention from officials at the Osaka Convention and Tourism Bureau as well as from high-profile retailers. The e-commerce arm of the event, implemented by Confis, provided local brand participation with tailored solutions including product design, warehousing, and marketing strategies.

"Made-in-Shanghai" embodies a forward-thinking approach to international trade and cultural exchange. The event not only identifies opportunities for Shanghai brands looking to enter the Japanese market but also offers comprehensive support for Japanese companies aspiring to invest in Shanghai's dynamic ecosystem.
