Amorepacific Museum of Art Reveals Exciting Exhibition Lineup for 2026

Amorepacific Museum of Art's 2026 Exhibition Program

The Amorepacific Museum of Art (APMA) in Seoul is set to host two significant contemporary art exhibitions in 2026, promising a rich exploration of both Korean and international art landscapes. Director Seungchang Jeon announced that these exhibitions will showcase the diversity and vibrancy of contemporary art, inviting both local and international audiences to engage with dynamic new works.

Exhibition Highlights

The events will commence in April 2026 with an exhibition titled APMA, Chapter Five – From the APMA Collection. This exhibition aims to present a broad overview of contemporary art, focusing on the major trajectories that have defined Korean contemporary art. Approximately 50 artworks from over 40 renowned artists will be displayed, highlighting pieces by prominent figures such as David Hockney, Rose Wylie, Kiki Smith, Nam June Paik, and Gala Porras-Kim. The collection will encompass various artistic mediums, including paintings, photographs, and installations, allowing visitors to experience a diverse range of expressions and styles.

In September 2026, APMA will unveil the first solo exhibition in Asia featuring the Los Angeles-based artist Jonas Wood. Celebrated for his unique artistic approach characterized by vibrant colors and intricate patterns, Wood has captivated audiences with his introspective paintings that often draw from personal and familial themes. His exhibition will include approximately 50 paintings and 30 works on paper, spanning more than two decades of artistic creation. The exhibit promises to explore key themes that have influenced his work, providing insight into his creative journey and the psychological depth within his art.

Engaging Programs for Visitors

In conjunction with these exhibitions, APMA is committed to enhancing visitor engagement through a variety of on-site programs. These initiatives will be designed to deepen the audience's understanding and appreciation of the artworks on display. Details regarding these programs will be shared via the museum's official website and Instagram, encouraging art enthusiasts to participate actively during their visits.

Overall, the exhibitions at the Amorepacific Museum of Art not only illuminate the rich tapestry of contemporary art but also foster a dialogue about the evolving nature of art in a global context.
