FPCO and Aeon Collaborate for Reduced Environmental Impact with Eco-Trays

FPCO and Aeon Join Forces for Sustainability

In an ambitious effort toward sustainability, FPCO Co., Ltd. has teamed up with Aeon Co., Ltd. to introduce eco-friendly practices through their limited-time eco-tray initiative and horizontal recycling system. The move not only emphasizes reducing environmental impact but also promotes the effective utilization of recyclable resources toward achieving a sustainable circular economy.

Introducing Eco-Trays at the 'Erabou Fair'

Starting from October 3, 2025, Aeon will host the 'Erabou Fair: Connecting to the Future Now', focusing on themes of 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle), organic and natural products, and food waste. This event will take place across Aeon's national chain stores.
FPCO will collaborate with Aeon to introduce specially designed eco-trays that simplify the messaging around recycling for consumers. These trays will be made from used food trays collected at Aeon's stores, which FPCO will recycle back into product trays as a nod to their commitment to sustainability. Aeon will utilize these exclusive trays for their top-tier product, the Topvalu Green Eye Natural Junkei Chicken.

The 'Store-to-Store' Horizontal Recycling Initiative

FPCO aims to create a sustainable society by developing low-environmental-impact containers and fostering a circular economy through its unique recycling practices. Their approach, which transforms used food trays into new trays ('Tray-to-Tray') and repurposes used PET bottles into new transparent containers ('Bottle-to-Transparent Container'), notably enhances resource circulation and aids in reducing CO2 emissions.

As part of their ongoing sustainability efforts, Aeon has been actively employing FPCO's eco-friendly products in their sales floors. These efforts have already led to a significant reduction of 18,912 tons of CO2 emissions for the fiscal year ending March 2025. By utilizing recycled eco-products on the sales floor, they aim for a more sustainable future that's both economically and environmentally sound.

Conclusion

The collaboration between FPCO and Aeon is a prime example of how strategic partnerships can drive significant progress toward sustainability and resource circularity. By fostering a recycling culture and promoting eco-friendly practices among consumers, this initiative illustrates the importance of collective efforts toward environmental conservation. Both companies exemplify a commitment to innovation, responsible production, and a proactive approach to sustainability that resonates across the industry.
