In a significant move within the automotive industry, Leslie Doggett Auto Group has announced the acquisition of Russell & Smith Ford and Honda dealerships, along with a major collision center and a leading Ford parts distribution operation. This strategic acquisition took place just a mile away from Houston’s famous Texas Medical Center, marking a notable expansion for Doggett.
Russell & Smith, a household name within the Houston community since its establishment in 1917, carries a legacy of integrity and community engagement. Over the decades, it has forged its reputation as a premier dealer for Ford and Honda vehicles. This well-established dealership generates over $300 million annually through its vast operations, which provide sales, services, parts, and collision repairs, supported by a workforce of 226 full-time employees and 58 skilled technicians. Doggett aims to continue the impressive legacy built by the Smith family, which has been a cornerstone of the community.
This acquisition elevates Doggett's presence in the automotive sector, bringing their total number of dealerships across Texas, New Mexico, Arkansas, Louisiana, and even Chihuahua, Mexico, to 61, including 12 automotive dealerships. According to Jason Mosley, Vice President of the Doggett Automotive Group, the expansion would not only increase market share but also improve the customer experience that the brand is known for. “We are excited to welcome these new dealerships into our family and continue delivering the ‘Doggett Difference’ to our customers,” he stated.
