Chemours Unveils Its 2025 Sustainability Report
The Chemours Company, recognized as a leader in the global chemistry sector, has recently published its 2025 Sustainability Report. This report reveals substantial strides made toward the company's sustainability commitments, focusing on climate action, emissions reduction, and responsible manufacturing practices.
According to Kathy O'Keefe, Chemours' Chief Sustainability Officer, the results of this year's report reflect the effectiveness of their sustainability strategies. "Our approach integrates operational excellence with innovative solutions, allowing us to work toward reducing our environmental footprint while also delivering value to both the company and our stakeholders," she stated.
Key Highlights from the 2025 Report
The 2025 Sustainability Report demonstrates the company's progress in various sectors:
1. Reduction of Emissions: Chemours has achieved a remarkable 80% decrease in air and water process emissions of fluorinated organic chemicals (FOCs) since 2018. This progress is aligned with their ambitious target to achieve a 99% reduction in FOC emissions by 2030.
2. Greenhouse Gases: The company reported a 57% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions since 2018, as they work toward a 60% reduction target by 2030. Furthermore, absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions have seen a reduction of 30% during the same timeframe, propelled in part by the uptake of Opteon™ low global warming potential refrigerants.
